^The suicide of Nero and the murder of Galba has left a power vacuum 
in the Roman Empire.  Otho has claimed the Imperial purple in Rome, but
everywhere throughout the Empire others step forward to claim the title
of Imperator.  Vitellius in Gaul, Macer in Africa, and Vespasian in the
East each puts forward his claim, while the legions stationed along the
Danube maintain an uneasy neutrality.  To make matters worse, a revolt 
has broken out among the Jews in the Iudea and Parthia is up to her
old tricks.  It is a dark time for the young Empire...
