@title=Did You Know...
That this game is all about building
towns? Try it, it's fun!
A good place would be near water,
grass or specially nice looking
areas.

@BUILDtown
@width=320
@y=5
@title=Have some help...
This is a nice place, let's build a
town. Select 'Build New town' from the
ORDERS menu or use the 'b' key to make
a town here.

@FIRSTPRODUCT
@width=420
@y=5
@title=Hurrah, You've Built a Town!
Every town can build new Naked Blobs, war-like
Blobs,or town betterments to increase the
size of your Blobilisation.
Sadly, you can only build one thing at a time
in your towns. Happily, you can change this
at any time. Select the item you wish to
make by clicking the 'CHANGE' button in
the town picture which is next.

@FIRSTCIV

@title=Let's Get Learning!
Towns are places where people experience
the joys of learning. Your Blobs can learn
all sorts of interesting things which will
allow them to do many clever things for
themselves and for your Blobs.

@FIRSTUNIT1
@width=420
@y=5
@title=Wow! You've Got A Blob
You have just made a war-like Blob!!!
You can move it with the keyboard and
make it do cool things with the ORDERS
menu. War-like Blobs can do things
fight wars to protect your Blobs and
expand your Blobilisation!

@FIRSTUNIT2
@width=500
@title=Blobs Do Wonderous Things!
Fortify Blobs in towns to protect them from improper
advances from Teletubbies or other Blobs.
Dentist Blobs and Chocolate Blobs make excellent
defenders; Bull Blobs, French Blobs, and
Loved Up Blobs can be useful as well.
^
Naked Blobs can make new towns as well
as make paths, sprinklers, and mines around
existing towns. See if you can have at least
one Naked Blob around all the time.
^
Fast-moving units like Explorer Blobs are
really good at looking about unmapped land.
^
Make war with Firestarters, Thin Blobs, Goofy
Blobs and Cool Blobs, just for a laugh.

@ONEtown
@width=420
@y=5
@title=Let's Make More Towns!
The town of %STRING0 is getting quite big.
Why not take advantage and build a brand new town?
To do this, click on %STRING0 and tell it to make
Naked Blob. This Naked Blob can move to a new
place and make a new town.

@townSTUFF
@width=420
@x=180
@title=All About Your Towns
A town's Blobs make different things depending
on the sorts of land nearby. On the town picture
screen, "mapped" spaces are shown with the "carrot",
"flower", and "trade arrows" that the Blobs are
making.
^
Try out clicking on these squares to move your Blobs about
from space to space and see that some spaces make more of
some things, less of others. Most spaces can be bettered
by making paths, sprinklers, and/or mines by Naked
Blobs. See if you can find what works best.
^
You can also take Blobs off the mapcompletely by making
them Beer. Beer Blobs are really great because they can
make beer, but make no food or other resources.

@MINING
@width=320
@y=5
@title=Let's Build A Mine!
You could get more out of this land.
Build a mine ('m' key) to add to the
making ability of %STRING0.

@IRRIGATE
@width=320
@y=5
@title=Let's Go With Sprinklers
You could build some sprinklers here
('i' key). You would get more carrots
and the town of %STRING0 would get bigger.

@ROAD
@width=440
@y=5
@title=Paths Are Really Good!!!
You could make a path here by pressing the 'r'
key. Your Blobs could then move quicker
and bring in more trade to the town of
%STRING0. When you get more towns,
try to link them up with paths so all your
Blobs can use them.

@HELP1
@width=500
@title=Do You Need Help? I Think You Do.
If you don't want nasty Blobs in your
towns, place guards to protect them.
^
Try to equal your efforts to better towns
you've already made and making new ones.
It's better that way.
^
Don't spread out too far if you can't
protect yourself; Teletubbies and
enemy armies may strike without warning.

@HELP2
@width=500
@title=You need more help.
Be nice to Blobs bigger than you.
Beat up Blobs who are weak and pathetic.
^
Use Titanic Blobs and other Blobs to travel
the seas and take your Blobs to far away
lands.
^
Use Carrier Blobs to take things to other
Blobilisations and get blobs. This helps your
Blobs get blobs and learnings.
^
As your Blobilisation gets bigger, use
Political Blobs to find out what your
opponents are doing.

@DISORDER
@width=480
@title=Uh oh, a Panic!
@button=Details
A town has a Panic when there are more
sad Blobs in the town than happy Blobs.
When the town is in a Panic it doesn't
get any bigger or make anything.
^
To sort this out,
^* Increase the amount of trade used for Beer.
^* Put war-like Blobs in the town.
^* Build Ode to Stupidity, Chocoland etc..
^* Turn Blobs into Beers.
^* Switch to eating Apples.
^
Click on "Details" for further details, or if you
didn't get all that.

@DISORDER2
@width=600
@title=You're Panicing, don't.
i) Beer: To spend more blobs on beer, find the 'Kingdom'
menu and select "Tax Rate". Play about with the bars.
20% is quite a nice level, particularly if your fruit
is a Orange or Melon. For every two pints your
town downs, one new happy blob pops up.
^
ii) Violence: If your fruit is a Lime, Orange, or Grapefruit,
you can bring in Blobs to bash Blobs into submission.
You can use three (3) Blobs in each town for this. With
every Blob, you get one more happy Blob.
^
iii) Odes, Shrines, and Chocolands: These town betterments
make your Blobs happier so they don't Panic. Problem is,
if your town is already Panicing, you'll have to pay or use
Beers as nothing gets made in a Panic.

@DISORDER3
@width=600
@title=More Panics
4) Beers: In the town picture, click on one mapped square
to turn the Blob working it into an Beer. Beers are
totally useless for anything worthwhile but make beer,
instead, two pints each. Which makes everyone happier in
the long run.
^
5) Apples: If you've worked out how to eat them, Apples
are good for controlling Panics as no one is ever unhappy.
Of course, they are a little crap when it comes to learning
but you can't have everything.

@SCHISM
@width=320
@title=Big Panics
The %STRING0 are big and ugly. If
someone were to, say, nick their
main town, they'd fall to pieces.
Their country would be split in two
and you could conquor them!

@SHIPS
@width=480
@y=5
@title=Water-Bourne Blobs
You just made a Water-Blob. You can use such
Blobs to map the water and take your Blobs
to far away lands.
^
If your Blob is a Titanic Blob, it might get lost
if it goes too far away from home.
^
To get a Blob on a Blob in port, get it to rest ('s')
before you move the Blob.
Or, if the Blob is in the water, just move
the Blob 'onto' the Blob from an next to it.
^
To take it off, click on the Blob or press the
'u' key to unload.

@RAILROADS
@width=480
@title=All Aboard!
You've just learnt how to build train tracks, very
well done. A Naked or Workman Blob can lay the train
track if you tell him to by pressing the 'r' key in
a square with a path in it.
^
These will allow your Blobs to wander freely where ever
they are laid. They also produce more flowers in squares
which already produce two flowers.

@FARMLAND
@width=480
@title=Farms
You have acquired knowledge of Party Tricks. Better
food storage techniques allow you to improve the quality
of your sprinklers. A Settler (or Engineer) will improve
sprinklers if you press the 'i' key in a space that already
has sprinklers. This will increase food production in a
nearby town once that town has a Bakery to distribute
the food.

@AIRUNIT
@width=480
@y=5
@title=Chocks Away!
You have just made a Flying Blob!!
Flying Blobs can break other towns and their Blobs and
can stop the enemy from doing the same to you. They
are also useful for exploring.
^
As Flying Blobs carry their fuel, they drop out of the sky
if they don't get to a hangar or town before it runs out.

@REPUBLIC
@width=480
@title=Melons Are Lovely Fruits
You have just learnt the joys of eating a new fruit,
Melon. Although this might be fun now, it can bring
problems later on. Think about this.
>
There should be a bit telling you to go and look in the,
CIVILOPEDIA but there's nothing in there about this little
problem. I say that you should jump in blind and have a
Big Panic. That's 'Revolution' in the 'Kingdom' menu.

@DEMOCRATS
@width=600
@title=Melons and Bananas. Mmmm...
You just said that you favourite fruit is %STRING0.
This is a very different type of fruit from all the ones
you've eaten before and is both better and worse.
^
Because your Blobs can move about more, they make more cash.
They also get more pushy and want you to entertain them all
the time. The best way to keep them content is to make them
drink BEER! To make them drunk, see the 'Taxes' box from
the 'Kingdom Menu' and make at least 20% beer.
Don't worry, you're rich now and can easily afford the odd
round now and again.
^
Your Blobs get sad when the War-Like Blobs go away from
the towns. You will either need to return them swiftly
or to dump them. This might seem drastic but all good
things must come to an end. Anyway, you'll find it
very difficult to get a good fight from now on.

@TRADE
@width=420
@title=Swops All Round!
You've just learnt about money. You can make it by swopping
emotions for money with a Carrier Blob. These take all
sorts of feelings right around the world to Blobs far,
far away.

@CARAVAN
@width=440
@y=5
@title=Ooh look, a Carrier Blob!
You've just made a Carrier Blob. Take it to a distant town
to swop stuff with it. You get money for this but more
if you send it to a far away or enemy town which will
pay highly. Send the goods where they are wanted by
finding out what towns want by clicking on them. You
can also use Carriers to build Excellent Albums as
they are connesuires of good music.

@WRITING
@width=420
@title=Great Politics!
You have just learnt back-stabbing grade 2 (Great Politics)
You can now make Political Bastards to suck the middle
class dry. They can muck about with enemies and spy on them.
Always, however, it ruins the middle class, but you gain from
their mis-placed trust. Again.

@SEAFARING
@width=420
@title=You've Just Got Distance Walking!
You've just got Distance Walking. This means you
you can get Explorer Blobs to wander the world. They
can move four squares a time whatever the land so
they are good to explore with. Once you get Metal
Working you can build Water-Bourne Blobs to carry
your Explorer Blobs and other Blobs to isles accross
the water.

@EXPAND0
@width=520
@title=Build More Towns.
You are small and weedy and crap. Build more towns or this
message will pop up again. Alternitively, take over enemy
towns. Until you can do that, build more towns you stupid
excuse for a flailing incompetant.

@EXPAND1
@width=520
@title=Get On With It.
We're small. We need more towns. Let's get this Naked
Blob to go and build a new one. Then we might actually
get somewhere in this game.

@DAMAGE
@width=520
@title=This Blob's Bust
This Blob is a little bust, as the bar at the top of
his (or her) shield shows.
Green bars are sort of O.K.,
Yellow and Red aren't.
^
Blobs can get a little less busted by skipping their turn
by pressing SPACE. They do this quicker in towns or forts.
Towns with Army Stomping Grounds can fix up Blobs in one
go. Betterments like Model Boat and Plane Shops can fix
up Water-Bourne and Flying Blobs.
