I) Introduction
---------------

Recently I got a CD off a magazine which included about 50 Civ 2 scenarios
and about 100 maps. One of these was the North America scenario, by Steven B.
Lichtman. This was one scenario that held my attention for many an hour, and
I thought that I would do a version based on my home country, Great Britain.
So here it is.
Seven civilizations have arisen on the British Isles, in a quest for dominance.
They are the Londoners, Midlanders, Scots, Welsh, Cornish, Ulsters and the
Irish. All they need is a strong leader to lead them to victory.
The aims of this scenario are the same as the standard game : either be
the first to settle a planet in the Alpha Centauri star system or beat every
other tribe into submission and conquor the entire map.

II) Installation
----------------

Move this file (in its directory) into your scenario subdirectory (if you
have one). If you don't, create one. Alternatly, you could backup your cities.txt,
rules.txt, cities.gif and units.gif and copy all the files in your main Civ 2
directory but this is time consuming and affects your normal games.

III) Contents
------------

This file , when unzipped, should include the following:

britisle.scn
uk&eire.mp
icons.gif
units.gif
cities.gif
pedia.txt
britisle.txt
rules.txt
cities.txt
label.txt
readme.txt (this file)

Spy Plane - Requires Aerial Espionage, long range air unit.
Plasma SSM - Requires Plasma Fusion, vehicle.

All these new units can be viewed if you go to the units/techs screens on
the civlopaedia.

VII) Contact Info
------------------

I would like any feedback on this scenario possible, so that I could improve
it in a later release, or in any future scenarios that I will create. Please
e-mail comments to :
                             derforce@yahoo.com

VIII) Troubleshooting
---------------------

There is only one (as far as I know) bug in this scenario. This scenario
was created for civ2 copies that don't have Fantastic Worlds installed, so
if you do have FW installed the scenario will not run unless you change the
Stringheap number at the top of the Labels.txt file. It should read 11000.
It must be changed to 16368 to run with FW. If you find any other bugs, please
notify me asap.

IX) Extra Credits
-------------------

Credit must go to the following people :
1) Steven B. Lichtman for making the great North America scenario that inspired
   me to make this one.
2) The Creator of the UK&Eire map that is included in this scenario and that
I used as the base map. I don't know who this was as a text file wasn't
   included with the map.
3) Sid Mieir, for creating one of the greatest games ever, and making it so
easy to create scenarios on it.
