From 750 B.C until the Rise of Rome in the 2nd century B.C, The Civilized World was the Greek World.
The centre for art, science, philosophy, and innovation, Greece only had one problem: food. The
Peloponnese was full of hills, so to feed the growing number of mouths, there were two different
approaches. Sparta chose to conquer within Greece. But the Peloponnesian city-states of Corinth,
Megara, Chalcis, and Eritrea, as well as other city-states in the Agean, chose to found colonies all
over the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. At 700 B.C, the middle of the Greek Archaeic Period, colonization is in its
heyday. As the ruler of one of the Greek city-states, you have two choices: colonize, or dominate.
^^You can play just about anybody, but the three Greek states, Corinth, Sparta, and the Ionians, are recommended. The
scenario ends with Athens' rise to power and the coming of the King of Kings, Cyrus the Great, from Persia to dominate the Middle East.
