I don't take sole credit for this mod. Although alot of the artwork is mine, much is a product of many people (Civ II mod builders) to whom I owe so much. Without their creativity I couldn't have done it. I thank them for all the wonderful artwork and excellent attention to detail. For all objects within that I did not create myself I deeply thank the creators. The concept for the game is mine but the basic theme is taken directly from star trek DS9's final seasons (the war with the Dominion/Breen/Cardasians with a bone thrown to Star trek TNG and Voyager (BORGS! BORGS! & More BORGS! - Aren't they scary buggers)

Contents:

1.	Installation
2.	Rules changes
3.	Scenario considerations
4.	Designer's notes

1. Installation (DO NOT! use any third party mod installers)
---------------------
In order to prevent the utter destruction of your current CIV II
installation, it is advised that you follow this procedure:

*First of all, backup your current installation, specifically any files you've changed personally (e.g. UNITS.GIF). The standard installation can be found on the CIV II CD-ROM, but any files you've customized may be lost.
*It is strongly advised that you have the Civ II Expansion If you don't some very special effects in the game won't take place but that won't effect your ability to win. If you do have Civ II scenario expansion or still wan't to play with all the new units and screens then To install 'Star Trek Wars:

a) just unzip StarTrekWars.zip Directly into the civ2\ main folder (Important for terrains and other effects)
Note: Some .dll files have been changed these will enhance the game feel, it won't be the same with out them.

*To uninstall, why would anybody even want to - but if for some unforeseen reason you do then: simply copy your original files back and choose to overwrite.

2.Rules and Text changes
----------------------

2.1 Rules
---------
*All of the text files have been altered some way or the other and the rules.txt has been changed dramatically, Menu and Map labels have been greatly changed also. all have been done so to create a true to star trek feel.
*There is even a customized Events.txt that does some pretty nifty stuff

2.2 New Units
-------------
*All the units have been changed, players are limited to producing only those that belong to their own civ. for instance only the klingons can build klingons battle cruisers and only the federation can build Galaxy Class starships.

2.3 Advances
-----------------
In order to create the scenario - Civ Advances have been extremely simplified

*Special advances have been created for the various civ's such as Romulan technology

2.4 Sound
-------------
*To maximize enjoyment the wav files have been replaced to reflect what's going on.

2.5 Other
--------------
Nearly every aspect of Civ II has been changed.
* All the units (some mine/some from other's all the best out there)
* All terrain (these I did for the most part)
* The city screen (a great screen from Paul Heron's Star Trek Universe Modpack v1.0)
* The Icons (mostly borrowed from other Star Trek mods)
* The cities (replaced with planets by me)
* People (changed to Star trek Characters)
* Hell everything in the zip - I am so tired from doing it I'm not going to list
them all, but once you play you'll feel the impact- enjoy!

3. Scenario Considerations
--------------------------------
'Star trek wars' the scenario is called simply Startrek.scn is intended to be played as the Federation. I cannot guaranty it won't crash if you play as anybody else I haven't tested it (with the exception of the borg). Play any other team at your own risk.

Before you start enter a normal scenario and make sure of the following:

* Instant advice is turned - off
* Tutorial Help is turned - off
* All graphic options are turned - off
* Always wait for end of turn is turned - On

Once you start playing it is suggested that you:

*And this is extremely important - DO NOT AT ANY COST engage in diplomacy trust me (that will result in an EXCHANGE OF TECHNOLOGIES and doing so will result in crashing the game - if you don't give the Techs the computer player will go to war with you).
