This is just a few changes I made to the standard CivII stuff. It only works for CivII Fantastic Worlds or CivII Multiplayer Gold Edition. To install it, unzip all the files but the wav files into your game directory. Unzip the wav files into your Sound folder in the CivII directory. If you encounter any errors, please e-mail me at fructose1@juno.com.

There are a few changes to the technology tree and some units are added to make it a little more realistic (according to me anyway). It has three new technologies: Smart Weapons,
Thermodynamics, and Joint Doctrine. Also there are 9 new units: Infantry (replaces alpine troops), Joint Stars (a reconnisance plane), Jet Fighter, Jet Bomber, Zeplin, Spec.
Forces, Mobile SAM, Nuclear Sub, and Combat Engineers. Many of the terrain and special squares were changed as well. All the new graphics were foundon the web and I intended no copyright violation.

And for your reading pleasure, here is some info about the technologies and units.

NEW TECHNOLOGIES

Smart Weapons
-------------
Prerequisites: Computers and Thremodynamics

Allows: Joint Doctrine, AGEIS Cruiser, Cruise Missles, Mobile SAM

Description: After rockets had been developed and used, military users wanted their weaopns to be able to guide themselves. With advances in Computers, simple guidance systems became available. Eventually, 'smart' weapons were developed that used copmuters to guid themselves, imporving accuracy greatly.

Thremodynamics
--------------
Prerequisites: Rocketry and Refridgeration

Allows: Smart Weapons, Space Flight, Jet Fighter, Jet Bomber

Description: Once scientists had found how to cool and heat things, they decided to look closer into the physics involved. Soon, a set of laws was devised and used to make better refridgerators, rockets, and even a new type of engine: the jet engine. This new engine produced more thrust than propellers and allowed planes to fly at incredable speeds. Older planes soon became obsolete thanks to this new technology.

Joint Doctrine
--------------
Prerequisites: Smart Weapons and Labor Union

Allows: Spec. Forces and Joint STARS

Description: After new weapons came about and better trained troops were available, a new way to use them developed. Specially trained troops were new capable of going behing enemy lines and preforming special missions. New aircraft loaded with radar and infrared sensors could relay up-to-date info on enemy troop location and defences, something always useful to commanders.

NEW UNITS

Combat Enginners
----------------

Stronger defence and high speed make these engineers quite useful in the battlefield. Their defences do slow down engineering jobs, but they can survive where regular engineers can't. Need a road, a fort? These guys are your best option. They can even be pressed into combat if necessay, but don't hope for much.

Infantry
--------

Mobile warfare made the riflemen obsolete, but fortunately the new infantry were there to replace them. They would be the backbone of militaries everywhere until Mobile Infantry came along.

Jet Fighter and Jet Bombers
---------------------------

Thanks to jet engines, faster planes entered the skies. Able to zip by slower propeller planes, these jets dominated the air.

Joint STARS
-----------

With advanced tracking equipment, these large planes can loiter in the for hours on end. Their reconissance can greatly improve any commander's ability to plan a battle.

Mobile SAM
----------

Jet Fighters aren't always available to defend troops against bomber attacks. But thanks to smart weapons, ground troops are now safe. Quite effective against air attacks, and their tough armor also makes them quite safe against ground attacks too.

Nuclear Sub
-----------

With the invention of nuclear power, Nuclear Subs entered the waters. Faster than their predacessors, these ships can keep up with your aircraft carriers.

Spec. Forces
------------

With Air Forces, Navies, and Armies cooperating, new troops can go behind enemy lines and cause all sorts of havoc. Their high speed and ability to go anywhere make them quite useful to any commander.

Zeplin
------

Once they learned how to make combustion engines, they put them on a ballon. Now man could travel around the skies with they birds. These new zeplins were quite useful for observing cities and soon were put to military use. Not very fast and not very defendable, they nevertheless provided some useful inforation to commanders.
