Age of Elightenment
The first player-made expansion for CTP!
v0.1 BETA

File Editing - Kaos(Casey Loufek)
Ideas - Thevlyn(Jason Clough) and Kaos(Casey Loufek)

Age of Eligntenment is designed to expand what you can do in CTP and give you more freedom. Right now we have added a new Civilization to play and a new government, in the future you can expect more things of this sort including, new units, new improvements, new advances and maybe new wonders! Graphics and sounds are a problem at the moment but eventually we HOPE to be able to edit them as well.

Installation is easy, any file that ends in *_str.txt goes in you C:\ctp\ctp_data\english\gamedata\ directory and any other file(excluding the one your reading) goes in C:\ctp\ctp_data\default\gamedata\, overwrite the existing files but make sure you back them up! I have no idea how this will work for multiplayer, I assume if EVERYONE uses the same modified files it will work fine but I have no idea what will happen otherwise. If anyone would like to do testing of this nature let me know.

One more thing, I really want to know what everyone thinks of this. E-mail me at ricforste@prodigy.net about this patch. I want suggestions for new things as well as feedback. Is Philosopical Anarchy too powerful? Too weak? Is there a civilization you would like to see added? Let me know people!

New Civ: Celts
The Celts were a widespread people who lived in western Europe and the British isles. They had advanced technology for their time and were divided into many tribes and clans. They were left out of the game but now you can play as this

New Government: Philosophical Anarchy
Growth: Average
Production: Good
Science: Good
Gold: Awful
Military: Awful

Philosophical Anarchy is the belief that no moral group of people need a true government. The people work for the good of their civilization without expecting to be paid(currency is all but abolished). They do however expect not to be sent into combat or to be ordered around. This government provides much potential early in the game but at the cost of power and wealth.
