By the early 2050's, people in the western hemisphere were unhappy. Although they had greater material wealth and more leisure time than in any previous epoch, no one was getting along very well, especially in the household. Divorce rates were in the 80th percentile, and even children were legally divorcing parents and living in communal "Kiddie Condos". "DNA Dating" changed all of that. Based on the computer dating fad of the 1980's, new technology allowed matchmakers to take the process a step further. Using personality tests, past histories, and the new GRI genetic scanners, counselors were able to make perfect "love connections". No longer constrained by location, people were able to move across the world to find their chosen mate, and with computers, able to perform their same jobs from anywhere on the globe. With refinements, within the next 50 years the divorce rate dropped to 20% (and was still dropping!), and people were on their way to achieving financial success and marital bliss.
