For hundreds of years the Mycenaeans had ruled the Argolid from
their stronghold at Mycenae. However two generations after the
fall of Troy, all of Greece began to be overrun by the new peoples
from the North. The Argolid was invaded by a king named Temenos
and after the Isthmus was overrun Acrocorinth soon fell. Some
other groups are still trying to survive amidst the invasion and
might prove helpful. The Achaeans still have some towns and to
the East, Epidauros has not yet fallen to the ships sailing in
from the Saronic Gulf. Otherwise, the rest of the Argolid is under
the control of Agamemnon. The major towns are already laid down,
but the greater part of the plain is not yet cultivated, a problem
easily fixed with the numerous settlers provided at the game's
start. You must drive the Dorian hoards back out of the Argolid
as well as deprive them of their main bases at Megara and along
the Saronic and Corinthian Gulfs. The terrain is very mountainous
but holds true to form.
