  HAWKINSVILLE VS. COCHRAN SCENARIO (VERSION 1)

HOW TO INSTALL:

First, make sure that you make a backup copy of the following files:

  City.txt
  Game.txt
  People.gif
  Rules.txt
  Terrain1.gif
  Units.gif
                       *Found in the /CIV/SOUND folder
* barracks.wav
* mchnguns.wav
* infantry.wav

Then, unzip the hawk.zip file. Copy all of the files (except the sound
files) into your /CIV folder. Then, copy the three sound wavs into your
/CIV/SOUND folder.  That's it.

ABOUT GAME PLAY:

First off, you should probably play on the bottom 3 or 4 levels of
difficulty, because when I tested it when I played on the top 2 hardest
levels all of my towns went into civil disorder. If you want to keep
the speed of fighting in the game going, this could get in your way.
I have created six new units for the scenario. Most simply rename or
replace standard units, but a few have specific duties:

redneck        attack
hunter defense (while can attack, has low rate of success)
crop duster attack (very high success rate)
bass boat carry units and attack
farmer         same as settler
pipebomb       same as nuke

I also tried to replace the FRIEGHT with at CHEVROLET as an attack unit,
but because of the special setting the game gives for this unit, I had
some problems. In the scenario I have assigned all other units to a
technology and then had it deactivated, so you should never be able to
use these units, but as you progress in the game the pickup truck may
become available.
Also, because of the large distance between cities, I have increased the
movement rate of all the units.

STORY BEHIND STORY:

Well, I hope yall like my scenario! This is the first one I have made,
thought I had wanted to do one for awhile. When I finally 'figgered out
how, I knew I needed to do it about something I knew alot about, so I
picked my hometown area. I live in Hawkinsville myself; well actually a little
ways outside of town. If you look at the short road through the trees
just southwest of Hawkinville, that's my road. I got some roadmaps and
an atlas for the map, though the terrain as far as trees isn't all
correct. I renamed all of the city improvements based on Country/Georgia
stuff, and the Wonders of the World on buildings, monuments, etc. in
the local towns. (On one note, if you have ever seen the Julia Roberts
movie "Something to Talk About", the building you see when she goes to
the horsetrack is the Perry Agriculture Center, which is in the scenario)
Well, anyway enough of me runnin' my mouth.

Anyway, I hope yall like the scenario. Play it, and then if ya don't mind
I'd like some feedback on it 'cause I plan to make an updated version with
new units, improved map, and if you can give me any more suggestions I'd
appriciate them!

THANKS:
Special thanks to Mike McCart and Jeff Head for all the help they gave
me on making this scenario and for the info I got from their homepages.
