It seems like it was only a short while ago that we were celebrating Apolyton's 4th birthday, while speculation about a new Civilization III expansion was running about and anticipation for Rise of Nations was growing. And in some ways, a year later things haven't changed all that much. A newly announced CivIII expansion means more speculation, and the release of RoN has led to another active community of Apolytoners.

Apolyton has most definitely grown over the past year, but despite the large number of new posters it still retains an excellent sense of community, unmatched by any other forums I visit. I can attribute some of this to the emergence of several 'Democracy Games', that allow some fairly unskilled players (like myself) to work with other more skilled players, all while building teamwork and having fun. I personally look forward to another great year on Apolyton, working and enjoying the company of some of the best people on the Internet.
