Authors Comment 'This is just a regular map I made. The idea for it was a large river down the middle with smaller ones trailing out from it.'
A very good map. It reminds me of my first game of civ2...ah the memories. The large islands are a excellent for perfectionist leaders.

Karel Polt has created this file.
As the title hints, this is a map of estonia. This could be the basis of a scenario, or even a multiplayer game. The depth of estonia on the map, makes landlocked civilisations more likely.

Authors comment 'Here is a 9,933-square map of California and most of Nevada. I exaggerated the plains and rivers in the desert areas for playability. The mountains all represent real mountains at least 8,000 feet high. I selected which rivers to show base...

This is a collection of 51 non-realistic maps. They have been made for fair play, and for balance. They come in four sizes: small, medium, big and huge. This is ideal for multiplayer, as the terrain is less 'potluck' as with the random generator.

A map that covers China, Korea, parts of Eastern Siberia, through Tibet, and down to North East India. Unfortunately this map is 'round' which does not work well, as the Pacific Ocean abruptly meets 'inland' Eurasia at the seam. Ample opportunity for growth from a game play perspective, with rivers, plains, grasslands, and hills across much of the ...

A land-dominated fictional map. The terrain is particularly rugged, with a high proportion of desert, mountain, and tundra squares. For the player, food would be generally best obtained by utilising the many small lakes that help break up the harsh environment. Terrain forms tend to occur in horizontal bands in the same manner as the 'real world' w...

A part-fictional global map that sets out a world where the polar caps were merged with most continents — South America and Australia in the case of the Antarctic, and much of North America and Eurasia have been absorbed into the Arctic polar cap. Terrain throughout the more equatorial regions is in keeping with the theme, with abundant forest and ...

A map of South East Asia, from Irian-Jaya (west Papua - New Guinea) up through to Thailand, including Cambodia and southern Vietnam. At less than 4,000 squares and a high proportion of ocean, the useable landmass is small-medium, but well suited to a short, naval-oriented campaign. Jungle and hills are prevalent, but not so overwhelming to make the...

Islands 2

A fictional map of 'threadlike' landforms, often only one or two tiles in width. The terrain chosen with few exceptions is arable, and the map only loosely conforms with the conventional practice of a hot equator and cold poles to the north and south. The map is large, and tribes have been placed.

Peter Weber has created this file.
This has been developed from the default game's Mediterranean map although the author has taken this and made considerable modifications. To illustrate, both Italy and Greece have been amended to allow much more extensive development, while other parts of t...
