`FC` 2.0.5 COMPLETED AND RELEASED
(4 September 2005, 23:14 | Alt) The newest version of the multiplayer strategy game Freeciv is yet another bugfix release according to its development team. The group released version 2.0.5 four days ago. Specifically, these fixes are for those found in the most previous iteration of the title published earlier this month several bugs from 2.0.4 published in late July [see earlier story].
The update is available in the native system the freeware title was developed for, Linux, as well as Windows. Releases for Mac OS X and other platforms are forthcoming. - DanQ

Sn00py, long time know in the civ community for his graphic deisgn mastery, and Jimmy, the progamming mind of the project, have worked for 2 years now and now starting to show the results to the world
We are glad to see a new effort for an indepedent civ game and will be here to support it`s development at all steps! The easiest thing we could do was to create a forum for it.

`FREECIV` IS A `FEATURED` MODIFICATION
(23 May 2005, 23:24 | Alt | 2 comments) Freeware multiplayer game Freeciv, which runs on both the Linux and Windows platform, has received mentioned in the July 2005 issue of PC Gamer magazine. The title`s 2.0.0 release, published just last month, is listed among the featured modifications on page 86.
FC is similar in concept and design to the Civilization computer gaming series. The game`s official website can be found at freeciv.org. Thanks to 'Father Beast' for the heads-up. - DanQ
CHANGES PROMPT `FC` 2.0.1 RELEASE
(1 May 2005, 14:54 | Alt) Five days after the release of Freeciv 2.0.0, version 2.0.1 has came to light early last week from the freeware title`s developers. The downloadable installation files for Linux, the Macintosh and two Windows varieties are available; depending upon the version they are running, Win users will have to select the appropriate choice. A features list is also available for viewing. Most of these four changes are minor.
Distribution-wise, a mirror at SourceForge.net is available for all variants of the installer. - DanQ
FINAL `FC` 2.0.0 RELEASED

SECOND RELEASE CANDIDATE FOR `FC` 2.0.0
(14 April 2005, 21:54 | Alt) The second "release candidate" of Freeciv 2.0.0 was released yesterday. The freeware title`s developers note that this is still not the final 2.0.0 release although there have been few changes since the first release candidate and will be few before the final release.
Players are still being asked to submit any and all bug reports to the email address supplied on the game`s official website. A tentative feature list of what the final 2.0.0 release will include is available for viewing, as is a separate rundown of the changes made between the first and second release candidate. - DanQ
