"Barry has done a fantastic job in growing the Hasbro Interactive business in Europe from a start up operation to a significant piece of the company’s worldwide business," said Tom Dusenberry, President of Hasbro Interactive. "Barry has the keen ability to find new and innovative product ideas, cultivate meaningful relationships within the creative community and expand new business opportunities on a global scale."
Mr. Dusenberry then went on to say concerning Tim Christian, "Tim is a proven leader in the European publishing business and we are very pleased to welcome him to the Hasbro Interactive team. While at Microprose, Tim created a world class operation in Europe where he built premier brands and created evergreen product lines with the company’s classic franchises."
IGN reports something more interesting:
Tim Christian, MicroProse's managing director of European
operations, has been named managing director of Hasbro
Interactive's European operations. This move follows Hasbro
acquisition of MicroProse, and was, according to documents filed
with Securities & Exchange Commission, a precondition of the
deal. Gilman Louie, MicroProse's chairman of the board, was also
promised a senior position at Hasbro Interactive in the same
documents, while MicroProse's CEO Steve Race was not, and
published reports indicate that Race--along with 40 to 50 other
"redundant" MicroProse employees--are on their way out.
