The Terraforming faction has been a staple. Everyone has made one, and like most factions out there, most are terrible. This isn't the worst faction other there but still imbalanced.

While a +2 Effic might equate to a -2 Morale, a -1 Planet certainly does not equate free Rec Tanks. More over, the modifiers are poorly justified. A +2 Efficiency for "Streamlinedproduction facilities"? "Streamlinedproduction facilities" doesn't make sense. That might be something you'd put on a industry bonus. -2 Morale makes sense but, "Manic depression caused by over-working" for the reason?? What?? Manic Depression is caused by overworking?? Excellent news! I should just stop working then. I am not psycho, I'm just overworked. >%/ This has got to be one of the craziest (no pun intended) modifier reasons I have ever seen. An entire society of Manic Depressives? Add a -2 to Growth for the sharply increased suicide rates. How about simply a 'peaceful agrarian culture' for the reason instead?

My biggest problem with this faction is the Free Rec Tanks. Free Rec Tanks is very powerful bonus, and there is no apparent balancing factor. Plus a free former at the start of the game makes this faction a little over powered. Not so bad I would discount this faction all together, it is one of the more balanced factions listed here....but that is not saying much.

Though it is not completely illogical, I am not real keen on the aversion to Green SE. It seems to me that a society based around changing their environment, could just as easily change it for the betterment of the Planet. Formers under the best of circumstances would still be disruptive (thus justifying the -1 Planet), but the ultimate goal could be conservation. It seems to me that a better aversion would be Power (negative morale indicates a non-warlike people), or Wealth (agrarians tend not to be fixated by wealth). But this is a minor complaint in the larger scope of things.

Overall I gave this faction fair rating (2 Stars)
