  1. ( Grandpa Troll, 09-26-2004) I really enjoy this game While i am die hard CTP'er This game has brought my attention to another possibility and that is addiction of.."One more turn" I enjoy the editor while it may not be the "best" it is "great" for the "Grandpa Troll" I look forward to many long hours of both SP and PBEM. Additionally I enjoy using while doing my CIVIII Story writings with the additional features! Gramps
  2. ( ThePlagueRat, 02-14-2004) If you already have Civ3, this is a must. The historical scenarios are well made, and really REALLY fun. Not only is there some new rules and concepts, like great unit-spawning wonders and scientific leaders, but aircrafts can now actually destroy the enemy too. We missed that one for a long time, and now this game seems complete.
  3. ( PrinceBimz, 11-17-2003) Heads up and open your eyes people, this is one excellent game! Let me tell you, I have been around since the very beginning. I have played just about every CIV title made ever made from CIV1, CIV2, CTP, CTP2, SMAC, and of course CIV3. This CIV3 combined with C3C is simply the best thing ever to happen to the CIV series. I kid you not, the scenarios are incredible, very versatile and good old fun. I absolutely love the WW2 Pacific scenario! Then the editor, oh man, can you say best ever editor for the CIV series. There is not anything in the game this editor can't change. Even things that are small and mostly not important can be changed in the editor. This is one absolute MUST, I say MUST buy. Beyond excellent!!!
  4. ( WarningU2, 11-16-2003) I personally think this is the best CIV since the original.

I gave is a "very good" rather than excellent only because it is still buggy using Internet Multi Player mode. This is despite the best efforts of extensive beta testing and exhaustive efforts of the developers. Their efforts were not wasted as it's much cleaner than when PTW first came out ,and will likely be Excellent in a few months once the vendor can issue the first patch.

The Conquests scenarios are games into themselves and other than provide entertainment, they are also educational. You can read all you like about Napoleon but when you actually encounter his incredible power on the battlefield, it sticks in your craw.

The only true problem with this game, is that it is even more addictive than previous versions.

  5. ( SewerStarFish, 11-13-2003) This is a great addition to the game. The scenerios add a unique and fun challenge to the game with their differing strategies. The new civilizations provide a rich diversity of random games. The changes in tech usage, e.g. Map trading are also well thought out. The public beta sure seems to have worked, as compared to PTW.
  6. ( Antrine, 11-07-2003) Well, a short note!! I have never played or purchased any CIV III game until Conquest came out two days ago, my area (Seattle). I was a long-time player-fanatic of CIV I & II and loathed migrating out of it (the OS Platform). Now after a year a bouncing around a dozen 'other' good games I am here playing Conquests having purchase the Gold Edition the same day and loading one then the other plus the free CD. Everything all at once! In summary this game is quite terrific!!!! The game editor is so sophisticated it brought tears to my eyes to encompass so many options. All the scenarios are so good; each stands as a game in itself. In two days, I have of course not played that many hours yet; it feels more than just overwhelming, easy and fun to play. Buy it, worry about it later, there will be a thousand ‘mods’ built on this with each a world unto itself! I will, after tasting everyone else’s, get about creating mine own. Ukala
