Description:
A versatile Civ2 map editor. Some of its capabilities are creating oversized and gigantic maps (maps with a surface of up to 10,922 and 32,768 tiles respectively), and convert Civ2 maps to bitmaps and vice versa. It can also preview, flip, mirror, invert and reposition maps.

  1. ( valmont, 12-22-2004) You can't play CIV without a map, and this snazzy little utility makes mapmaking a breeze. All you need is a graphics editor. If, as the author suggests, you start with a satellite map or similar source, you can produce an incredibly faithful map very quickly. In a couple hours I made a map that was ten times better than all my previous efforts. A palette file is now included. My only beef with the program: the colors are so similar. It would have been helpful to have a legend telling me what color produces which terrain. This information is found in the palette editor, by mousing over the swatch. But it's annoying while you're drawing your map to have to do that. Still that's a minor complaint, considering the power now available: effortlessly trim unwanted tiles from an existing map; switch between a flat and round world at will; and replace all instances of selected terrain with any other terrain.

Good thing. I use it a lot.
  3. ( DJensen, 11-03-2000) Works beautifully. Easy to use and manipulate. Two thumbs up. Only complaint is that it could use a pallete file.

Looks good. Better then the one that comes with the game.
