About the year 1500 BC in the Middle East rises for the first time in human history some kind of international system with diplomatic relations between several different nations. The leaders of the great powers of this period are the pharaoh of Egypt and King Hammurabi of Babylon (1726-1686). Since 1554 Egypt has been governed by the 18th dynasty of Amenophis I(1527-1506), hutmosis I (1506-1494) and his peaceful daughter Hatschepsut (1488-1468). Their domain is however threatened by northern tribes as the Assyrians lead by Schamschi-Adad. In the middle between these kingdoms lie the reign of Mitanni (lead by their first king Sauschtatar) and the Phoenician cities on the Mediterranean coast. In the west, on the island of Crete, is rising the new developed culture of the Minoic Greek. The most dangerous menace to this system of ancient states arrives however from the north, where the Hethitian tribe has discovered the use of horses and iron. In combat the Hethitians use a fast and highly effective light chariot, that will allow them to attack even the city of Babylon. Can you guarantee your nations survival, leading your people to new glory and prosperity? |
