  1. ( player1, 04-16-2003) Scenario is pretty good. < P > But there are several small problems. < P > First, Townsmen unit is too good defender. Non-veteran Townsmen defend too well against Veteran Beduin. Also, it makes getting Riflemen unimpressive, since Riflemen has lower defense of 3 and one HP more for doubled cost. < P > I suggest changing Townsmen defense to 3 (in rules.txt). < P > Second, because of some fuzzy logic of AI, AI controlled players won't build Beduin and Beduin Cavarly units, which makes scenario too easy. Can be fixed easily, since core off the problem is that AI logic tries too build Beduin Raiders, which are already obsolete. < P > Changing the Beduin Raiders prerequisite tech to "no" (in rules.txt) fixes this problem. < P > Also, in order to prevent accidental taking of English and Turkish Science tech by arabian nations (which totaly unbalances the scenario), prerequisites for these two techs should be put to "no" (in rules.txt). < P > With these changes scenario starts looking really good. Only other minor complaint is that Artillery becomes too dominating later, but at least it's expensive.

Watch out: camel's milk is aproaching. That's right - imagine yourself into Arabian deserts, fighting for your country independence, trying to conquer/incorporate other cities, as well as fight hard with other clans and empires. Maybe 'dear mother' England left you free inside eye of total war chaos but they're still dangerous. Dear friends Turks are also aproaching... It seems that it will be very long & hard way to success. Perfect chance to check your own abilities in really extreme conditions: weak water supplies, more advanced neighbours and agressive nomads. Also great "technical" views - maybe some of units' colours doesn't look fine but they suit well, believe me. In addition, great map - used in 100%, the same we can say about the rest of important text files, full changes - that's what I call a heaven for Civ II maniac. Oh dear, just check it from some small side at the highest level... Fight or die.````PS. Does anybody could give me glass of water, please?
  4. ( Giant_Squid, 08-26-2000) Made by the writer of a guide on scenario design, and it shows. The first thing you notice is the Arabian atmosphere, and the second thing you notice is that this was designed to be quite engaging to play. Though I have no knowledge of the history of this area and period, I nevertheless enjoyed it.
