Description:
Guillermo López García has created this file.

This is a WW II scenario playing on a large world map starting in 1939. Civs are Russians, Japanese, German, English, French, Spanish and Americans. The units have been almost completely replaced by 20th century units.

  1. ( Leon Marrick, 05-21-2001) It's hard to believe that previous reviewers and I are playing the same game. ````I'm seeing an average-iffy civ2 scenario. It has a good selection of units, but it's pretty easy to give a ww2 scenario a good selection. Some amazing city placements: Delhi is on the southern tip of India, Novgorod is east of the Urals. Italy, as far as it is ruled by anyone, is under Franco's control, not Mussolini's. Just about everything important is connected by rails, which pretty much kills tactics. No "color" at all.````Good WW2 scenarios aren't rare; download one of them instead.
  2. ( JJ, 10-10-2000) Garcia's 1939 scenario is simply the best WW2 out there on the net right now. Is it perfect? No, what scenario is. But I have found myself continually returning to it for some time now. It provides a great way to improve your military technologies (though i would consider editing many of the tech settings), and its also not too difficult to add your own perks in. If you want a fun WW2 scenario, try this out.

So, here we're - back in 1939, with the biggest idiot of all time, a.hitler - ready to realise his mad idea to conquer whole world. Of course, nice starting positions, fine use of many new units, full map war area + bombastic forces and countries placements. Oh dear, that's really impressive. However, where did you miss Poland? Surprisingly, it seems that we've war starting point without real WWII initiation :( Despite that, whole x-tremely bloody mess brings a lot of fun, especially if you mix up a little before warm up, providing e.g. better fortifications, few additional sound effects changes and so on. Sometimes I think that I should start realising my own ideas... Who knows... And what about 1939? Yum, yum. Sure, that's simply fantastic but cruel "time monster", what are you waiting for?
