I've seen and played every world map that has ever come out for Civilization games (that is, every one that i've known about), and although they are all fun and interesting, they are ALL THE SAME !!! Oh, I know ... differences in accuracy and such ... but honestly, does it really matter? The world becomes so generalized when its divided into a series of tiles that making a perfect map is, in my opinion, quite impossible. So I set out to do something different You can see a screenshot of my Huge map of the world ... The first thing that should strike you as being .. 'odd' ... is the view. I'm getting sick of this typical map view, and I wanted to change it. Now I KNOW what all of you historians out there will say - that the view makes no sense, that landmasses aren't proper and so on and so forth (i studied history and geography, trust me, i know !) ... but the IDEA (and this is the important part) behind the map was to CREATE A MAP THAT RESEMBLED THE EARTH for that FAMILIAR FEEL, but to make it FUN and INTERESTING TO PLAY ON. |
