Description:

This is the source code of Call to Power II, as released by Activision exclusively on Apolyton on 28 October 2003. This is the same file as the Source Code Installer, except that it is in ZIP form, rather than an EXE file. Not that when you start the download, the End User License Agreement (EULA) of the source code will be diplayed: you must agree to it before you are allowed to download and access the file.

The code will not immediately compile in this form. As you can read in the readme, some libraries are missing and some settings need to be changed. You can find details on getting the source code to compile and run on CtP2-Source Code Project forum. That is also the place from where attempts to document and improve the code are being coordinated. A FAQ about the project and the code is also available in that forum.

Releasing the source code was a very rare event in the gaming industry and a generous act of Activision, one which most software companies would never even consider.
