Well I've discovered another song that really depresses me and reminds me of my ex-girlfriend.

Damn woman ruined so many good songs for me . I can't listen to them without thinking about her

Nights in white satin? I don't find that song depressing. I love that song though. I wouldn't call it up lifting either. I'm not sure what to call it.

I hate sad music. In very rare occasions I'd listen to it. Nothing foreign when it comes to sad music apart from Edith Piaf.

The saddest song I have listened to has to be "Les Vieux" by Jacques Brel. It depicts the daily life of old people. Very general. Very poetic. But above all very true.

I'd read of a song composed by a person on the day his GF broke up with him . He committed suicide later , and others who listen to that song have , in about 50% of cases , committed suicide . For me , it's the times a song is associated with that make it happy or sad .
