Ahm, hello folks!

I was unable to play Civ for a long time but now I'm back (again?).

Well, just wanna say that I just got Civ3 Conquests and that I just got Civ3 Multi Tool 1.10... let's see if it works fine here, cause I always seem to find bugs that no one did...

And, Gramphos, I see your Multi Tool does not have a portuguese version... if you (or anyone) should want it translated to this language, I'll be glad to do the job!

Anyways, see ya!

1.10 Savegame issue Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

I noticed 2 issues last night while editing a savegame. I am currently running CIV III with the latest Conquests patch v1.22; BIQ Version 12.08.

I exported the map from a new save game. I opened the map in the Conquests editor and noticed the Player Starting locations were missing. I thought it may have been a setting issue with the editor but I reset the Player Starting locations and they appeared on the map albeit in their new locations.

The other issue I had was with Bonus Grassland. I modified the save game with the editor and added some Bonus Grassland tiles. I imported the map onto the original savegame, saved to a new savegame file and loaded the game. The Bonus Grassland tiles that I had added were not there. The only Bonus Grassland tiles that were there were the original from the unmodified savegame. All my other changes seemed to be there. I thought it may have been an issue with saving so I exported the modifed savegame map and opened in the editor. All my changes were still there including the Bonus Grassland.

Any idea what may be causing this?

Thanks.

If this works I belive it will be a method for scenario builders to eliminate the AI raising cities because it contains one of there own citizens. especially if you change assimilation chance to 0

I tired to add in a new foreign citizen but in ended up my own and when I tried to change a existing one to another nationality and save it, the editor crashed.

Inflate your Upload Space

I get this weird error every time I start the Save Game Modifier.

code:
Can't find DLL entry point readPCX in c3mt.dll

The program seems to work without problems (I use it with C3C), except that I can't load the terrain.

And then every time I close the program, I get this:

code:
Run-time error '453': Can't find DLL entry point freePCX in c3mt.dll

What gives?

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

Depending on how mush time I can spend on investigating the saveformat before the next version is to be realeased. I'm ironing out some bugs with the BIC-handling system currently, and have rewritten a large part of the central code for handling the rules. The timeline for an updated version is very hard to set, but currently many areas are in need of being changed to the new (and final) BIC handling system for a working version to be produceable.

I had to remove some limits with the current system that's been in since the begining of the Copy Tool and not are very well handled.

Suffering from ads?

It works partly with 1.22. I hope that the next version, that I have no idea of when I'll finish will work a lot better. (I'm rewriting the codebase for hadling rules and saves. As a result of this the savehandling will become more roubust, but due to some VB issues the time to free up memory on load of another save or exiting the tool will increse a lot. I hope to be able to solve that for the version after the next version)

As for the ability to correct the DATA IO: CITY error I'm not sure if the new code will handle those errors. At the current design level they don't, but it might be reimplemented before I finish the next version.

I can't give a timeline for all this, but probably not within three weeks. (exams coming up)

Wait for the next version. I'm chanign a lare part of the file handling for the next version, and will disregard all old bugreports once it is done. There will most certenly be new bugs in the next version, but probalby not the same bus as in the current.

I still don't have a date for the next version, but not before the next week is over at least.

v1.11 Got spare money?

- Fixed bug in PCX saving not following all PCX conventions. (Making some programs displaying PCX-images saved by C3MT in a strange way)
- Icons restored in c3mt.dll
- TechTree Builder: Added Simple Graphic mode for the tech tree boxes.
- Fixed bug with trying to load incorrect default rules for C3C
- Civ2MapConverter now correctly handles FloodPlains, Coasts and Seas as conversion targets
- New Tool: Image2Map - Convert PCX images to Civ3 maps
- Fixed bug with direct startup of the Civ2Map converter
- Fixed bug with label overrides for the CopyTool
- Fixed bug with the Unit comparer not reporting changes only in required technology.
- Import/Export units now handles multiple startegies for units
- Updated MOD version to version 2. Old mods are no longer useable. (but I doubt any one uses them anyway)
- Fixed bug with unitprototype reorder in scenarios with units on the map
- Fixed bug with reordering buildings related to telepads. Could corrupt data or generate subscript errors.
- Fixed bug in Civilopedia editor where the icons would list small, large and one more, that made the tool crash if selected.
- Fixed some backward compability issues
- Updated the internal system of handling scenario files.
- Updated internal system for handling saves
- Optimized unit selection routine in savehandler slightly
- SGE: FOW calculation updated to work with C3C terrain
- Full C3C v22 support (hopefully)
- Improved backcompability with older Civ3 versions.
- TechTree Builder: Added ability to chnage to a standard background instead of the one found in the searchpath.

I downloaded this latest version, but now when I try to select my scenario to add a new unit in the Unit Creation Wizard, the program crashes

It seems to be crashing whenever if gets to loading the unit prototypes (didn't even know it needed to do this )

This is the end part of the log file that seems to be the significant portion:

Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

Well I re-installed v1.10 and everything seems to be back to working fine again.

I managed to get the Wizard working once with the latest version, but it corrupted the BIQ or something, because I got an error when I tried to open it up in the editor. Luckily, I had a backup copy of the BIQ. I'm not sure how much good it would do for me to share the BIQ, since I have custom unit graphics and suchlike in a scenario folder, and I'm not sure I want to go to the trouble of posting the the entire scenario unfinished.

I can post it if you want though.
