Actually, that is going to start happening. There are rumours of restricting or cutting off supply in Canada due to Canadian companies selling the cheaper drugs back into the US via the internet.

It has reached a point where large organisations are directing people to the Canadian suppliers as they are cheaper. I heard something about New York city or state government in the news over the weekend.

So now the medical associations and pharmacists are getting pissed off due to the threat to the health care system for Canadians.

However, it's not as simple as turning off the tap to Canada. For any drug out there, there is a Canadian company that could produce more than enough of it for our own supply. So it's a balancing act for the companies and the GoC.

It does have the makings of another trade skirmish though.

Luckily, I am my parents only male child, so I can't get drafted. The draft is morally repugnant when a large chunk of the population is not behind a war, aka Vietnam. Conscription should only be used in World War-sized conflicts. Also, it excludes women, violating the equal protection clause of the 15th amendment, so does not letting women be in the infantry.

****, they let them go through jump school at Benning now, and they even have them in the Airborne divisions. They ought to just keep them all in the Navy and the Air Force, not in the real military.

I can't say I was a big fan of female machinist mate's. Their mechanical ability was average at best. They mostly ended up doing paperwork for the division .

Do you really not understand what the reserves do and why they're called up now, and the differences between that and a conscription into the regular armed forces that would annually net at least four times the number of authorized recruitment slots?

A draft is not necessary if the US gets more troops from other countries. Of specific interest, is India. They could deploy up to 30,000 from what I hear. And a UN mandate was passed some time ago which will give India the green light to send troops.
