Seriously, Straight bars: The Zephyr and almost the Romanza (we planned to go in, but the Cali import of one of my cliques is homesick for Chico, so we sat outside comforting her and talking). Gay bars: Visions, The Quest, and The Blue Oyster. I don't drink alcohol and I can't dance worth a sh*t, so mostly I stand around looking like a goober while my friends live it up.

I don't know why I keep going...but keep going I do.

Maybe if you drank alcohol you might find your ability to dance improves. It works for us straight guys.

Ok, we really don't dance better but we think we dance better and we do it with more confidence which is almost as good.

I went to a gay bar once, but nothing happened. It seemed rather dull, so I left after awhile. No one hit on me, but then I'm not a cute type. OTOH I'm not hansome or butch either. When I was young gay people would tell me to change my act because they didn't want people mistaking me for one of them. Straight people used to tell me that too.

I hate regular bars... but a male gay bar would suck (no pun intended). I have a hard enough time going to a bar even if there are a ton of hot chicks... taking out the hot chicks and replacing it with gay dudes doesn't sweeten the deal

I'm all for equality and everything. I have nothing against homosexuality or anything. I mean, if you're a dude and you like dudes, that's cool with me. This is supposed to be a free country... do whatever you want. But I won't deny that I probably am homophobic in some way. I've known a few gay people, male and female... but I know I'd probably be uncomfortable in that kind of situation. But then again, I don't know how much is true homophobia and how much is social anxiety. More of the latter I suspect.

my job requires me to go into gay bars sometimes. I have no problem with it. I don't work real late, so I don't have to witness the really bad stuff.

It is bad though, because they are allowed to show gay porn, yet a straight bar cannot show straight porn. And they are allowed to have sex acts within the bar. Well that is probably illegal, but they get away with it. Not to mention nudity.

I don't like bars generally. I've been to a few bars that were subtlely gay, but never to a camp sort of place where people dress up in costumes. Considering how many gays / lesbians I know that's kind of unusual, but then again I don't really ever go to bars much, especially recently.

as for going to bars in my off time. I doubt it will happen. I rarely go to straight bars.

I already have enough rejection by women to deal with. I don't want to go to gay bars and not get any attention as well.

I had my ass groped by a woman in a straight bar when I was working. She wasn't doing it to come on to me. She figured I was uptight and would jump if my ass was grabbed. She doesn't know I was in the navy, and I'm used to having my ass grabbed. . But when I'm working I kind of am uptight.

First bar I ever went to was a gay bar, Berlin, back before they expanded. There was this old Slavic couple standing in the very back, just staring. Cute boys (lord have I changed) didn't get checked for id and there was no cover.
