Are you insane?

I'm up to 12 pages total of densely packed notation. I couldn't write that out given all the time in the world.

And right now I only have 14 hours left, not all the time in the world.

I feel your pain. I've had similar problems with the quantum field theory homework last week. Basically, what we had to do was calculate (among other things) the generating functional of a complex scalar field in interaction with the em-field, up to order e^2. Unfortunately, the professor forgot to mention that he only meant the e^2 term in the first order of the expansion, not the e^2 term that you get from the second order. So I've written out a 5 page calculation (in abbreviated notation) for exactly **** all. Cost me two days.

You could have chosen a less theoretical field of research that doesnt allow for 'take home' exams.
