Depends what you mean by split, really. There's now a Scottish Parliament and a Welsh Assembly, so you could argue that the UK has "split".

If you mean "countries most likely to undergo brutal civil war" then my list is;

1. All African states with the exceptions of Morroco, Libya and Egypt
2. Saudi Arabia.
3. Russia (ongoing, really).
4. Pakistan (ditto).
5. Belgium (wild card entry).

IIUC in contemporary Taiwan the local dialect is making a comeback and Mandarin is in decline.
Chiang did not invade the Island until 49 when Mao and company drove him out. I believe the reason China claims Taiwan is because Chiang claimed China. The Goverment in Taiwan today is still fill with people from Chiang old party. It will be 20 or more years until all of the old party member are dead and gone.

lets think political - economic systems. Which one doesnt belong?

I already know the various governmental systems. But please, elaborate your point.
After all, if South Africa and Rhodesia can pass from minority white rule to majority black rule, anything can happen.

I think that at some point Puerto Rico will go ahead and sue for statehood.

I thought they didn't want statehood because being a Commonwealth gives them a favorable income tax situation?

Got spare money?

Ben Kenobi, if you think separatism has anything to do with passports, then you should just shut up.

OB:

Then please come up with a clear definition of 'sovereignty association?' Many Quebeckers who voted yes had little clue as to what they voted yes to, due to the vagueness of the question.

Personally, I doubt Quebec will ever get its sovereignty.

Not going to happen unless you see an overwhelming majority, a la the Velvet Divorce. That's the only situation where I see the remainder of the provinces relinquishing their no votes to keep Quebec in Canada. No province has the right to secede unilaterally.
