It's best to assume that all politicians are lying manipulitive scumbags, to get a measure of how bad they are you should just look at how successful they have been. Anyone who gets to lead their country (from whatever party, in whatever country) has done it by spending at least 20 years lying cheating and backstabbing their way to the top better than all the other liars and cheats around them they are competing against.

It's possible there are some that aren't like that. They will tend to be loners and "eccentrics" who are praised by some, hated by others and are united by their common lack of ever achieving any real power.
