It doesn't matter you're going to the City of Dis. So you might as well sell your soul to the Devil as well

She didn't have anything good to say. she *****ed about the cold (it was a really cold day here) and *****ed about the way people treat her at work. Just no spark. No rapore. And I DON'T have to treat her like some ice princess, UR. Yeah, sure I will listen to her stuff if I feel some sympathy for her. But at that point, I really didn't feel like llistening to Miz every-birthday-in-paris. I even got a little tough with her and that was worthwhile. She wanted to do some activity afterward dinner and I suggested three things and she rejected all:

a. A walk
b. go to another place and have desert/coffee
c. visit kitties, see apartment, watch movie.

So I told her look "You have shot down all my options. I don't have any others." So we went and bought her benadryl (she's allergic to the kitties) and played a game at my house. I offer her herb tea (I even have a sampler with different kinds). No enjoyment. So I made some for myself. (and she had a cup, but joylessly). Worst of all no laughter or even response to my jokes. No law saying she has to enjoy my style of conversation/banter. But no law saying I should want to hang with people that I don't enjoy the chat with...that don't enjoy me.

Anyway, she is not some evil person. But she is not for me. It's a free country. Annapolis-classmate-died-in-Somalia-sister likes me. So did most of the others I went out with. (I been dating a lot lately.) She can find someone else who wants to listen to her problems with guys hitting on her and how rough it is. Maybe your "friend" who likes pining for his actress love could be redeployed.

That was in september. She never cooked me any meals and I always paid for restarount dates. Always. Annoppolis-deceased-classmate-sister usually expects me to play (which is no problem, I don't care about money, make enough) but she made sure to buy ice cream a couple times and bought one of the cheaper meals. And was sweet. But at least old gf was easy to talk with and we could exchange stories. Not just listen to all her travails of how people look at her funny.

See that was cute. Props to you. If she could have joked a little with me, it would have been more fun. I mean if she doesn't find the conversation engaging, why want to stay? It's not like I am some physical stud. I get by based on confidence and charm. As it was, I finally got her coat for her before she asked for it.

I think she just dates very little and wants to get more mileage out of her effort in getting dressed up...

shitforbrains. And after I typed it I realized that it totally had that my-dad-insulting-me feel. And then as I type it, I realize it will eleude the autocensor (Ming don't send me another PM for saying this...it wasn't deliberate censor manipulation...it was tangential. Or at least could conceivably appear to be a mistake. anyway, when I first typed it, it was for the remark and the censor thing was an added bonus.)

Besides, I don't really think I should insult people too much, Kitty.

That is how I felt. I guess telling her straight out that she was shooting down suggestions (I used that phrase) was my way of calling her on it.

Geez, are you losing your eyesight?
It's titled "So I met this guy . . . ."

But anyway, I think you were right to have treated your date the way you did -- you seemed to have been civil enough, yet indicated to her that you were not enjoying her company.

Tired of ads?

Right on TCO, this chick sounded boring. You did the right thing. Obviously she wasn't someone that you had a future with, and she didn't sound very fun to boot. And she didn't have even have a booty? How did you put up with her as long as you did.
