I think its the best way to test it.

Afterwards one "team" can be the party and the other "team" can be the monsters etc of the DM.

The RP between fighting doesn't really need rules so much.

Its just one round = one round isn't it? Time is abstract. Perhaps magic points come back when not fighting.... some kind of blah about when its peaceful...
