"Arrrmmmmmmmfff!", CapitanGarlic exclaimed as he felt something around his throat.
"Begging won't help" were the last words he heard.
Neighbor o' York heard a thud. He opened his windows to see what had happened, and he saw the body of CapitanGarlic on the pavement!
Dr. Zopperoni worked the nightshift and he received a call from the baker o' York about the incident.
"One moment you're having sweet dreams, and the next moment you're lying on the street in your underwear. Good grief!", Dr. Zopperoni said.
"One moment you're having sweet dreams, and the next moment you're staring at a dead man on the street in his underwear. Goodmorning!", Duke o' York replied.
The doctor checked the body first. Cause of death was asphyxiation caused by strangulation. Estimated time of death was around 5 AM.
Then Dr. Zopperoni tried to get into the house. Since the front door was locked, he tried the back, and to his surprise he found the back door wide open!
There were no signs of forced entry. Perhaps the door wasn't locked in the first place.
He made his way upstairs, and into the bedroom of CapitanGarlic. The string from the curtain had been ripped off, and were lying on the bed: the murder weapon was found.
CapitanGarlic's bed was placed against the window, so it was only a matter of opening the window and rolling him out of it.
Later in the morning, the rest of the village received the news of the death of their green-grocer from the baker o' York.
It is now day.
