And? I never post +1s. I just spend quite a bit of time here, and post a lot on Other Games (I'm in 3 games, plus the BG thread) and the Rec Commons, answering posts and serving drinks. Sure I post a lot, but none of it's +1s, and the only ones that are spam are the Rec Commons ones.

You should have seen last months It was around 38 ppd IIRC

Demo games create many postcounts, but forum games and the CivIII sections also do as such. Ghengis, Jamski, Skanky, Spikie, HongHu and myself are all predominantly forum games posters, with DGs or Community on the side. Rasputin spams Community mostly, it seems. vxma1 and Arrian are CivIIIers. However none of those are +1 maniacs, IMHO (possible exception of Ras, who does all the lists). It's simply time and level of involvement, not mindless spamming. Even Spamski isn't that bad anymore

Jamski amazed me recently when, after keeping pace with me for a few weeks when I had ten or so hours to post per day, he shot ahead of me by several hundred posts in a few days. Skanky.... don't get me started on that spammer....

I should really try to meet him 'afore I leave Sydney again.

I know the feeling. When I worked and they had 'Poly there, I got about 35 ppd for 5 weeks. My postcount when up a lot. It ws 4200, on page 5, a couple of months ago, now it's almost 5200, on page 3. Just time and starting to post on Other Games that did it. Remeber I beat Jamski to Emperor by a few days, then he shot ahead. Now he's 1500 ahead

He got 51 ppd for January, according to Rasputin. That's just insane.

I think your thread should prevail. Pros: its funny, new idea, cons: its spam and we already have enough of it. As for drogues cycon rec commons; pros: drinking, cons: useless spam since we already have another at the general forum. It doesnt really matter whether it was ceated first, some people dont want to participate in drinking anyway. Activities in rec commons are quite limited to be honest, so if you dont like to worship tass or play drunk on the internet you dont have any place to go spamming at cycon forum. Holotheatre or Holodeck is a nice place to tell jokes and stuff...

I have to agree with obstructor and laurentius. I don't see why the Hologram Theatre was closed if all the other "spam" threads like the rec commons, chess tournament, Tass Temple etc remain open. Obstructor is a great member to have in the Consciousness. He gives valuable comments on the gameplay aspect, and especially enriches the roleplay aspect and fun for us all.

Obstructor: One spam thread is usually allowed in forums. A place to chat about things that may or may noe be strictly game related, a place that is about socialising not about game mechanics. That is why we have Rec Commons.

Then you will be disappointed. Tass's thread was left because it was a story of Godlihood from our God. It is RPing. I'm sorry if you feel differently, but this forum is first and foremost for playing the game, and so any blatant spam threads, or any threads that turn into blatant spam, will be closed.

Also, your triple post of TEST ENDED in the Test thread did not go unnoticed. You claim you're testing something, but there is no mention of what you're testing, or what you're doing. That thread is there to show us how to attach things from the new upload service. Not to be spammed. It will remain open and be cleaned, because it is needed. Please do not spam it.

I am not trying to single you out, however you keep spamming. Most mods would have banned you for ignoring warnings, and almost certainly for having a go at me. I won't. I don't want to be cruel. However you must stop spamming in the way that you are. If you have a problem with me, my decisions, or the modding of this forum, I would suggest a PM is in order.

You can do that in the Rec Commons. The Rec Commons is for any chatting, relaxing, socialising. Anything off topic. We have a private one because there may be CyCon things we wish to chat about, and not post on the public one. As you said, we have enough spam. If you wish to make jokes, post something funny, or do almost anything, use the RC. Pure spam threads will be removed. I don't want to ban people, as I'm very much against it. However if people continually spam everything, I am left with little option. I really don't want to ban someone. Please, anyone, don't make it a choice between banning someone or wrecking the forum though, because I will choose the former.

Though IMHO the content of the hologram theatre wasn't a reason to close it, you have a good point when you say we don't need two threads (commons & theatre) about the same subject. So how about merging the hologram theatre thread with this rec commons? Then the off topic posts are united.

The Rec Commons is the one place to relax. The DG always has an RC, just to sit and chat in (you don't have to order drinks), and most forums have one. However if everyone wants it deleted it will be.
The Chess Tourney was an idea in this forum, and I used the precident of Race to the Prize, in that it started in the DG because it was by DG people. If you want it moved to Other Games, I could ask an Admin, but personally I don't see the point. It is a purely CyCon game, and so the CyCon forum seems the natural place.

RP is ok, spam is not. Those pics were spam, blatantly. Multiple posts in that way are spam. That is why I closed it.

I could, though I tend to stop merging threads like that because it means replies have posts intersperced with them, and it creates X-posts. If everyone wants me to I will, but I think it will look messy, and I don't see the point personally. However it is an option.

I think the content was enough. It was blatant spam. They wouldn't have it on OTF, which is meant for that sort of thing.

Grr - about the test thread some pics couldn`t be seen in 3D Issue - so I copy -pasted 3D and tried it there (some suggested that I tried in another htread, so not wanting to create another thread I simpyl posted it. later I deleted it because I didn`t want the test threa to be loaded for ages. It wasn`t a deliberate triplepost. I just thought you wouldn`t want to wait for 3D to be loaded and ther it is in 3D offices.

I still don`t understanf how is funny pic different in spam style than "/me drinks a [insert drink]" or "/me plays D3-5". That isn`t blatant spam?

Sorry, that makes sense. Either way, they were no longer needed so have been cleaned. Sorry for the comment, disregard it.

The former is spam. We have one spam thread, where we can chat and relax. Not just for drinks, just to relax. We don't need another. The latter is a game, which we are playing. Since RftP set the precident, I thought it was fine to keep it here, though I could move it to the main forum?

Well anyway this was a misunderstanding - I thought that if you can start another Rec Commons why shouldn`t I start one more spam thread.

Didn`t think at chess tournament either - thought on 3D chess .

But from my point of view CC Rec Commons still are a pure spam thread (with except of pande asking a question). Perhaps we need a discussion thread where one would ask random things and then got response from others?

Lets move on and think on strategy!
