Melfs loses its importance once you get to Tensers transformation (6) and Mordekainens sword (7) . But you can place the buffs more than once in your slots and use them for your henchman/familiar/summon too. Don't be thrifty .

Or use metamagic to stock up on MORE magic missiles, or Web is an EXCELLENT spell at all levels. Melfs is useful because very few creatures have acid resistance, and invisibilty is a blast. Level 2 is really pretty handy. The buffs are great too. Cat's Grace is a favorite. Its well worth a Rogue taking 3 levels of wizard to get accesss to 2nd level spells.

So... I'm going to make a series of "mini modules" for NWN. Each will require no hackpack and take about 30 minutes to 1 hour to play and cover 1-4 levels. The first "mini module" will be for level 1 characters. I think it makes sense to ty them together into a story.

The question is : Should I make the modules for vanilla NWN, so everyone can play them, or use an expansion for more monsters and tiles and objects?

SOU expansion, my guess is that the majority of people who liked and still play NWN would have the expansion.

Update on my current game, in between crashes, yes they have returned (but they are much fewer and further between) my character has become a 5th level rogue, 4th level assassin, and 4th level shadowdancer... I must say that he is a very sneaky/stealthy fellow

I don't know if I should spoiler this or not, so to be on the safe side:

spoiler(highlight to read): I'm on the 2nd floor of the temple of the winds, kicking a whole lot of spectre and wisp a$$, so here's my stupid question, is there any reason that I should haul around those 50lb slabs of beef that are on the bloody alters? I feel like an idiot for even asking ... they're breking my poor characters back.

I'm looking forward to buying HotU so that I can get this character up to epic proportions I'm having a great deal of fun with him, sneak attacks o'plenty

What weapons can you guys reccomend for this character?

My current weapons are Konk's iceblade, the flail of Jergal, staff of power, +1 small bow, and various wands and scrolls. I'm looking for a rogue/assassin type weapon to do maximum sneak attack damage, (no halberds please )

If you play as a rogue you can often get through the tutorial in about 2 minutes anyway

So shall it be. I'll aim for a more serious tone than the Dungeon of Apolyton, and they be much shorter than that epic module, of course. I just wrote a script for when the module starts that gives you some clothes to wear. Yippee

I made it to your house (pretty fancy place you have there ) but the damned cat killed me!!!!

What's the deal is it invincible?

Also, why did everybody turn against me (Asmodean, Kody, Bob) after I fought and killed Vlad?

Its to do with the factions...

spoiler(highlight to read): If you fight people on certainn factions, the rest of the faction will turn against you. Simple in theory... but Vlad shouldn't be on the same faction as some of these guys as its likely that people could actually fight and beat him. He's just MEANT to kill you or take the ring. I didn't expect people would be able to kill him... Better to leave him alive and I'll fix it in the next version. As for the cat... did you read the books on Mrs Jamski's bookshelf? The cat is REALLY like it says. Oh... you did get the proper cat brush too, from Drogue's Bar? You need a cookie from Mrs Jamski to get it IIRC...

BTW, I'm restarting the OC with a Rogue-type build. I'll definitely be multiclassing; IMHO there's no real reason to increase Rogue levels above 13, since +7d6 sneak attack is enough for my purposes ( ) and there are generally very few locks/traps a 13th-level rogue CAN'T open or disarm. Having only HotU, I don't have access to the Assassin or Shadowdancer. I'm considering Ranger (hey, two double-weapon feats for free, plus favored enemies are always nice) or Wizard (Invisibility's also nice). ...would the Shadowdancer class be worth getting SoU for?

I have to admit that I kind of cheated, I was looking for something to keep me occupied after having finished SoU, so I tranferred my character into DoA

...So I was just cruising right along... explains why I was able to beat Vlad.

Start again with a fresh character. Then it makes the whole thing have rather more point.

If you just kill all the dead hard plot characters, don't be surprised when you can't get down to fight Mark and Dan and Ming and Rah and me and DrSpike.

I'm up to chapter 3 so far, soloing it on the easy level with a barbarian. I just got him a level in rogue though, as the damage from setting off all those traps adds up

I've had some big problems with that as well, what are your specs(video card in particular) Tuberski?

I had to change the graphics quality down to the lowest setting in order to get it running smoothly(fewer crashes etc.). A person really shouldn't have tp do that with a 128mb radeon 9700 pro!!!!

...but to be honest, I really can't tell much of a difference in the graphics quality after putting it to the lowest, so it's not a huge loss.

There are known issues with NWN and radeon cards, the 9600 in particular. The crashes with 9600 cards was supposed to have been fixed with the last driver update. It didn't seem to do much for the 9700, however.

But, when I played it last year it worked fine.
