Well, we have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that the server is back up and running! Hooray! The bad news is that upon reimaging the drive, there was a hardware failure at the drive level. There were attempts to salvage the data that was on the drive but those actions did not yield any results. The end result is that all data on server has been lost due to this failure. We are currently in the process of beta testing a backup solution so this is not a future issue.

I'm losing all confidence in Dubyah over this. Starting a war over something that didn't exist can happen to anyone, but being unable to guarantee a world order in which I can freely spam at Eventis is not forgivable.

Possibly not. I'll have to see if the MySQL auto-backup gave us a backup of the database BEFORE it frazzled.

The reason we lost everything May 4th onwards was because Eventis was being accessed by the old server.... which was extremely odd.

The forum software definately is not lost, as I have it on my own hard drive. Whether the posts are there is another story.

I'm not sure it was a virus actually... it could well be a DoS attack, which would explain the up and down and up and down. In fact, everything appears to lead to a DoS attack...
