A Magical Moment...

Geo, head up! Glad you liked my narrative Yours was just perfect, it will blend in what I had in store for Enid at the Spot
MY 2135.0805
Outside the Spot at a section of the Ruins
“Surreal, eh, Princess?” a tall figure stepped beside the slender feminine figure standing atop a ridge overlooking the rolling plains of pink xenofungal carpet, a line of ancient alien obelisks snaking across the plains up the ridge then again down and across the plains. Far on their right, they can barely see the glittering of Data Angels’ third base, The Spot.
“Yes, Datatech, it is. Very mysterious,” Enid acknowledged.
Aeolus glanced toward the princess, observing her taking in the sight for the first time. It has been two years since he returned from his private visit to the Kingdom. Smiling inwardly, he recall all the hard times Enid put them through. Her temper tantrums and insistence on rituals unfamiliar to them. However she could be very charming should she find it in her to be. Her intelligence, ah, her instructors impressed from the first day. By the time Aeolus returned home, the Princess already had a script set up and running that solved the cube’s riddle in 20 moves. How can he forget that one time how she tried to hack into the Planetfall’s datalink system. It appear that the precautionary measure of setting up a small duplicated version of a series of dummy intranets linked to each other in which itself were physically disconnected from the true internet web was a prudent one.
Aeolus does not know how the Kingdom plan to pick their successors should something happen to the Queen. However, they would be hard-pressed to find a better candidate other than Enid. If she was to mature a bit and gain more experience, she have the potential to become a formidable ruler for her people. The princess already have the inner strength that only the Planet-born have and it will serve her very well.
“Princess, do you remember the gift I gave you on the first day we met?”
“Rubik’s Cube? How can I forget?”
“Tell me, what the Cube taught you.”
After a moment of silence, the princess spoke, “There is no true chaos, and there is order even in what is perceived to be chaos.”
“What a bold statement!” Only if Geo and Gwynn were here, Aeolus thought to himself. “Can you clarify this some more?”
“With a computer program, there is input which interacts with scripted processes which results in an output. The discoveries we have made along into the human mind and life in general has indicated that on the most basic level, that is what we do – we process inputs from outside stimulus and return outputs. Coupled this with proofs that we can predict chaotic events via mathematics, it would be logical that everything in nature has order underlying them which can be manipulated once we understand the ultimate script so to speak. We don’t have the knowledge and ability yet but there is no reason that we cannot achieve the level of knowledge necessary to do so someday.”
“Well said. What does this mean for those?” Aeolus gestured toward alien obelisks.
The princess looked up at him silently. Chuckling, Aeolus said “Your parents have shown me the seafungal mass in the Důlaman Sea. What if the fungus here and the one in Důlaman Sea are sentient somehow? Just like a hive of Earth ants or bees. It has been suggested that in the human body, individual cells are not sentient but when you link them all together, some how a form of sentience emerge which we call the soul. What if it is the same with the xenofungus?
“Take those obelisks, they emanate some kind of energy we cannot gauge yet but we can utilize. When our troops come nearby, somehow they feel revitalized and more courageous. Mindworms seem to be attracted to those ruins. As you know, there are many scattered all across the Planet’s surface yet this is the only location we know of in which those structures are built along the geometrical lines.
“Princess, suppose there is some form of sentience behind the xenofungus, would it be too far-fetched to speculate that those structures were an attempt by some ancient civilization to manipulate the ‘script’ of the said sentience?”

Turn 2136 on to the good Doctor and his lovely assistant.
Busy turn. Everyone, please check your diplomatic screen and/or mailbox.

New Atlantis, the Garden Palace, MY 2136.0805
Gwynn stood for an outer viewscreen. Wonderous panoramas were to be seen outside her stateroom, but nothing of it caught her attention.
For the best 35 years of her life she gave all her compassion and skills to the Atlantean people, only to be considered redundant by a large part of the new generation. Unrest was avoided for now, but how long before even her token leadership would be questioned? Off course people should decide for themself, and choose their leaders, but what was wrong with the way she ruled the Kingdom? She, with the help of the council, had nurtured Atlantis to be the supreme faction of Chiron after all.
Too bad that in this dire time her family was away. Geo on a mission, and Enid still studying in Aeolus' network nodes.
Luckily we will be reunited again next year...

Coastal shelfs near Rubin University, MY 2139.1305
Princess Enid stood upon the bow of her transport foil. In the distance before her the towers of Rubin University became visible. Tall towers, perched upon the coastal cliffs near the port facility which the foil was approaching.
As the ship came closer to shore, fungal fields could be seen on the eastern side of the base, accenting the rocky cliffwalls on the western side. Quite another view then she had learned to like some years ago during her study at the Angel faction where only vast rolling plains dotted with fungal forests could be seen.
Fright razed in her, but nothing could be seen of it for the benefit of the crew, and later the mysterious Doctor Rubin, leader of the University faction. Little was known about this man, and even less he choose to disclose about his longterm goals and plans. Still, she was accepted to study here, which her parents saw as quite an honor as the research capabilities of the University even exceeded those of the Kingdom. Much was to be learned on this place, and even more hopefully usefull for future developments within the Kingdom.
Finally her foil rounded a cliff pinnacle rising out the sea and there became the bases' quay visible. A reception party stood there, waiting for the 'Gifter' to land. Enid accepted the binoculars the foils captain gave her and looked through it to the party on the quay.
She recognized Dr. Nataliya, her mentor for the coming years, at the head of the party. Appearantly Doctor Rubin didn't find it necessary to receive her here today. She had expected that much already, but still it piqued her on how unimportant interfactional affairs (namely she) seemed to him. No doubt soon a quite logical explanation would ring in her ears when Dr. Natalya spoke to her. Princess Enid of the Atlantean Kingdom on Chiron straightened her shoulders and sighted...

2140 to Sankis.
---
"Your Highness, Princess Enid, welcome! You'll presumably find you stay here at the University of Planet quite different than that of your usual naval habitats. I am Dr. Nataliya and I am to be your mentor while you are studying here."
Dr. Nataliya was clearly weighed down by the absence of Doctor Rubin--although mildly. The princess did not seem to mind initially--a quick inquisitive glance around the welcoming committee was the only sign that she even noticed.
The diplomatic relationship between the Atlantean Kingdom and the University of Planet had suffered a few setbacks during recent years and Dr. Nataliya feared that the proud young woman before her was to become a tactical pawn in a cynical diplomatic scheme.
"I've studied you personal files, your highness, and I am impressed with your curriculum--especially your skills in Planetary Biology..."
"Please, Nataliya, just Enid", the princess had a promising vital freshness in her tone, "...and yes, I've learned to understand and value the beauty and secrets of the fauna and flora of Chiron; the sea variants especially."
Rubin University had an inhospitable--almost eerie--appearance; situated between barren mountains and vast streches of Xenofungus. The princess knew that her first lessons was of an unusual kind. She needed surgery. It was common practice for all University students to be 'enhanced' by cybernetic research implants and Enid realized that without the base bio-module much of her time at the University labs would be completely wasted. The base bio-module was a kind of logical container providing the student with updated information on current studies as well as extending the learning capacity. She hoped to have the 'Xenobiology module extension' implanted at some time.
---
"Enid, I'm sure Doctor Rubin wants to meet with you soon. I'm not entirely certain, but I believe the Doctor is preparing evidence to convince Chairman Yang of the Human Hive of 'the fundamental faulty' in hivean ideology. They've been resuming an old dispute--however, the Doctor rarely appears publicly and even I do not know the exact nature of the projects he is preparing in his private lab. Nevertheless, he did mention that your coming portended changes that he was certain you would appreciate."
(The arrival of Enid, Princess of the Atlanteans. M.Y. 2139)
The University of Planet announces a change in economic structures that should eliminate the threat of numerous native incursions.
