O - MY - GODDDD!
I AM SHOCKED!!!!!
Genau Herr McMeadows!!!!
Yes, after spending 15+ years in Germany while in the US Army, I actually fell in love with the German town of Wittlich...It is REALLY a very quaint and rustic river town, everyone should see it if they can (of course, you will automatically fall in love with it like I did! )
But McMeadows discovered the main reason for my avatar name...the German Town of Wittlich. I liked it so much, but most people didn't even know that it existed...
...So I decided to assume it's name-sake, and after 5+ years, and NO ONE has asked me if I was in any way related to the village of Wittlich in Germany....sure people ask me if I'm German (but it's not the same)...
Kudos to you McMeadows!!!!! I bow to your estute observational skills!!!

But on a side note, you should have really tried to actually visit the town - you would have felt like you were living in a fantasy world! (Yes, this is what I felt every time I viisted the village.....and DON'T even get me started on "KRIS KRIGLE MART" (during Christmas) ... it is an ABSOLUTE Chistmas wonderland!!!
It is an abolutlely beautiful village that EVERYONE should at least experience once.
*** I have to say it's one of Germany's best kept secrets. ***
