Full PM-box? Change here!

I've gotten the "30 seconds" notice for almost an hour. I suspect it's because the 30 secs are determined from the clock and therefore when I posted at n:58:00 it's waiting for n:58:30 to take place, but it rolled over to n-1:58:15 in the middle so that it takes much more than just thirty seconds. If this message goes through (with Poly time finally at over n:58:30) it supports my theory. I already tried to send this five and two minutes earlier but to no avail.

Yes, I got some reports about the 30 seconds thing from others as well, though I didn't experience it myself (that's what my test was for -- you know, usually ignoring someone involves less spam )

I don't see how posting 11 minutes apart tests the 30 second barrier somehow...

Thanks Kassi, that may just explain why posts are being rejected due to timing issues.

No, I'm quite familiar with the 30-second typing too fast rule.

Actually for me, I couldn't send a PM despite having not sent one for at least 30 minutes previously, well outside the 90 second asking time. But alls well and good as Poly finally decided that I had waited long enough and let my PM through.

Like I care about the Poly time. My Poly clock says I'm GMT+9 at the moment.

Whilst I said it in jest, I also meant that the UK hasn't changed its daylight saving days for over 20 years. Most (if not all) other EU countries adopted the same DST implementation dates as the UK back in the late 90s.

this is confusing.

You know what's even more confusing is the earth's rotation is slowing down like 1 second every few years or so. I believe it is due to that annoying moon. So not only do you have leap years, you have leap seconds.

More trivia:

Leap years:

When year/4 = a whole number
but NOT when it's century turnover unless you can divide it by 400.

Maybe a example will make it easier to understand my gibberish

code:
Leap year Not a leap year 2000 1900 1996 2001 1904 500 1600 1700 8 7

Actually, its not slowing down that fast, a day increases in length by 1.5-2 milliseconds per century. Since 'the second' was defined in the 19th Century the Earth's rotation has slowed such that a day is ~2 milliseconds longer. Over the course of a year that accumulates to about 0.7 seconds.

Correct. The Time Zones on Apolyton should read: BST +X instead of GMT +X.

Example: I'm in Central Europe. I can select the "GMT +1" time zone for my country, but I'm actually on GMT +2 now since we have daylight savings. Therefore, the country/city display does not match with the time display.
