Hmmm Reno? Gag me, please. That goes for Carson City too - I dislike Nevada, period. Hartford - my parents would be so thrilled if I was to move there.

Now those places I'd consider it if I had a good job there. Funny, alot of New England towns... but guess being a Maine native has something to do with that. |
what's wrong with Nevada?

I'd personally rather live in Boston, if the rent prices weren't so damn high...

It's a military town. That may explain the young age.
Norfolk is even a bigger military town. That mean age should be pretty low.
Norfolk area (which includes Virginia Beach, Hampton, Newport News, Portsmouth). has a naval air station, the worlds' largest navy base, an air force base, an army base, a naval hospital, a naval shipyard in portsmouth, a shipyard in Newport News that builds all aircraft carriers, I think it has a marine base as well. And Yorktown has a naval weapons station.
It has one of the highers male to female rations in the country.

Lewiston-Auburn area has Bates College which offers bachelors and masters. It's a great town. It used to be run-down lumbering town but lately it has been blooming. Two years ago or so there were some local tension when the feds resettled refugees from Somilia there. I know Mainers, I told people just give them some time - the Maine hospitality will overcome any concerns they had that came from ignorance. Sure enough, now, those refugees are widely embraced as they show that they'll be intergrated into the local economy instead of being useless bums. Naturally, eastern African resturants has been opening up all over.
Camden, I don't know too much other than it's in 'Down East' area which is a very rural area. |
I would want a place with good physics research

* Not unattractive cities from my perspective. Non-starred cities would require more research, higher $$.
** Have lived in Knoxville and Atlanta. In many ways, I prefer Knoxville (it's so damned convenient it's crazy) but my wife would like for us to move back to Atlanta. Or maybe somewhere else, but a larger city, that's for sure. She'd probably enjoy Charlotte, NC Nashville, TN or Louisville, KY (however, if I were to move to Kentucky, I'd select the Frankfort area, right between Louisville and Lexington, about 40 miles from each.)
