Yeah, the first line is just a disclaimer. Loading old saves should work, but we shouldn't be upset with an occasional problem. SabreWolf verified this with a quote from Jesse in another thread. The (1.15) Napoleon save Paddy sent me also loaded and ran fine. There doesn't seem to be any PBEM specific problems, so far.

3500 to PtS.

I did reload 3550 first by accident. I tripped a barbhut first thing just like I did the previous turn, only I received Bronze Working instead of three barbarians, so the preserve random seed feature doesn't appear to work... :-(

the troops still wander correctly... so far that is...

very disapointed with the city city rioting - zoom in feature, when you 1st open the save...

you zoom into a city rioting, and you can only see the city border, the shields, gold etc. the rest is all black, so you need to go back into the city later in your turn to sort out the work force etc.

I will try to orgaize a pic, possibly better than my description...

1.22 doesn't seem to be 'taking' in the PBEM community...? I saw GhengisFarb mention 1.15 games crashing eventually after upgrading. Heard anything about this?

Paddy, did you try opening the old 1.15 savs in 1.20, playing and saving, and then opening the new 1.20 savs in 1.22?

judging from the readme, this may be the way to go.

New possible bug, tho not from this game-
MPTournament.biq according to the readme and the editor's scenario description is supposed to generate maps with 40% ocean. This is not listed as an option in the appropriate menu (60-70-80% oceans only) in the editor and the maps generated are pretty clearly more than half water...

Now that I think about it, MPTournament.biq might be a special case where the 40% only shows up when launched from the MP screen. All of the other modification show as defaults in the editor windows, though...

[BTW- the scenario properties window reads v1.18 for MPTournament.biq]

Odd- I also tried loading my one unmodded PBEM from pre-1.20 and had no problems playing and saving under 1.22.

What sequence of patches have you installed?

Well, my editor seems fine and I didn't see the problems with upgrading an old save to 1.22. I'm wondering if we have different patch elements or something?

I went 1.12 -> 1.20 -> 1.22(update).

Are other people still having trouble with old saves? Has anyone else mentioned the editor?
