On a brighter note, I added lots of cool units, techs, buildings, small and big wonders to the game. Here are some screenies.

I was playing as Russia so I couldn't see the splash for the Reichstag but you can see the description I made.

Most of the wonders can only be built in the city it was historically built in. There's also a Danish war college which uses pigs to help in training new troops, and there's a Victorriano to make armies stronger but you need to negotiate with Italy to import olive oil for the Roman architectural builders to put on their pasta and salad. I put in some small wonders for every nation to play with, including guerilla warfare stuff for waging unofficial war against big bad civs that are too strong to declare war on, like guerrilla fighters, spies and secret service agents which can be upgraded with body armor. But they are very few in number so have to be careful with them and use tactics to survive in hit-and-run attacks.

Put an end to popups!

Great Story Unscratched, however I would like to point out that the Russians set fire to Moscow and Napoleon did not attempt to blow up the Kremlin (In fact he took great care to preserve it). Moscow was needed intact to winter the French troops and the Kremlin was needed as a symbolic victory. In the end, Napoleon was denied these by the Russians and Napoleon was forced into one of the harshest retreats in history.

Edit:

Also, the Reichstag was constructed from 1884–94 to house the parliament of the newly-founded German state. I find it difficult to justify its inclusion in a Napoleonic Scenerio.

Skipie, I don't know anything about them.

Mad Bomber, you are right that Napolean tried to prevent the Russians from burning the not only the Kremlin but all of Moscow so Russian arsonists were rounded up and neutralized. Then when the French prepared to retreat from Moscow, Napolean ordered the Kremlin to be blown up and for some reason the building complex wasn't destroyed as planned but only slightly damaged. The Kremlin never was destroyed.

As for the mistiming of the Reichstag, to tell you the truth, there isn't one wonder on that list which was built during the Napoleanic wars. If I made it rigidly historic, there would be no wonders at all in the game which is not cool. Besides, the game is alternate history so for me its all good. Because a lot of people don't feel comfortable with my radical kind of mod is why I won't upload it. I prefer fun value over serious historic value, although the map and units are all historically based. Especially odd is the Circus Maximus which was built many centuries earlier and it produces Legonarii Gladiators from victorious fighters in the arena which are tough; as well the Circus is a tourist attraction. The one called New World Exploration is a typo and now reads New World Exploitation.

Thanx for the reply Scratch, I just wanted to point out a few historical flaws but if its an alternate reality scenerio then I can't really complain.

I think that you should upload the scenerio, it looks pretty good, just remember to make a note in the scenerio description that it is an alternate reality mod. I think I'd like to include a few of those wonders in my epic game mod.

Good to hear Chris and Kaos

Mad Bomber, my mod is not alternate history. It is based as closely as possible on the Napoleanic Era with a few toys thrown in for extra fun. I even researched to select stats for the units I added in to ensure historical values. The original map, infantry, cavalry, and cities have not been altered at all because the company did a pretty good job of this one.

Kurious, the story won't be continued because I had to stop there for a big reason. The plague was designed to last for one year but it was heading on into year 2 and my years are 56 turns each! It was my first time to play with a plague and I did it just as an experiment. I was very sad to stop playing this game because it was the best civ game I've ever had. I removed the plague from my mod.

Here are some sites I use for researching gun types and ship names as well as how strong units should be in my mod. They are really interesting so I recommend these for casual reading.

Trafalgar

Napoleanic Artillery

This next article occurs much later than the Napoleanic era but it is another good ole musket battle and has a really cool gunboat the Danes used for fire support. The ship has turrets with no gun barrels. The shots are fired out of holes in the turret.
Denmark vs Prussia Scrap

And some pictures from a recent test game...

This shows some flavor ships. On the left side there is a galleous used by Sweden. These ships were designed to move faster than sailing ships and had guns in the towers on each end as well as going down the sides of the ship. Although they had good speed, they couldn't stand up to the terrific gunpower of triple deck warships and were most probably obsolete going into the 1800s. On the right side of Denmark there is a more modern ship of the line which historically was made after the Napoleanic era. I only put these in for graphical variation and to represent different ship strengths.

A 4-way brawl between Russians, wolves (barbarian units), Swedes and Danes. I had to retire from the battle and retreat into Oslo when hordes of wolves attacked the city and very nearly wiped out the defenders. The nasty Russians led by Tito are getting the best of the fight. Already they have slaughtered stacks of wolves and Swedes, treating both like savage animals to be smitten.

I'm thinking of doing a story about Denmark. A very hard fight it is especially when enemies land stacks of troops on the peninsula like the Russians did in this game.

Got spare money?

A ghost from the past has come back. Vovan, where ya been? Yeah, this is my first time in over a year to play this game but its very fun now! I redid the experience system so its more cool. The units start out as regulars not veteran and get 2 hitpoints per increase so elite units are few and valuable.

I'm doing a new story about Denmark but I can't upload the pictures yet. It's a backwards moving, getting pushed into a corner type of story. Well, I start out stuck in a corner and then get cramped into it even worse as the sky gets darker (the fog of war).

Scratch:

Didn't mean to impune the reputation of your mod, but when you have the Circus Maximus as an active wonder in a Napoleonic Mod, I'd have to consider this an "alternate history". I understood that the units, particularly the land units, were based on reality. My suggestion to list it as an alternate history mod was simply to explain that it does not model the Naploeonic timeperiod in its entirety (particularly when discussing wonders)

Bomber, the wonders including the circus were in the world during the napoleonic era, except for the reichstag which came a little later. In Sweden people used saunas, muslims prayed to mecca, natives were exploited, etc etc. The only reason I make the circus buildable is because it has a cool image and it makes the game more interesting. It's an easy build at the start of the game since it was already there. Why are you having such a hairball over the wonders in this game? I don't like being boring and by-the-book and few other people are like this so I won't post my mod cause there would be too much moaning like this. I'm thinking about making an ICQ sendable package of it though but it will be a bit big with all the units, terrain and what not.

Nice. I'll join Mad Bomber though and say: you should post your mod. I mean, screw the whiners. Their loss, eh? It'll be a hit. I mean, you've done a lot of work on it, clearly. Share it.

I see you've utilized the civfanatics upload quite a bit for this story. You could use the 'Poly upload space too... Of course then you wouldn't be able to post the pics on CFC... Then, there is always the attach button. That's what I do.

Actually, I don't have a problem with your mod, it looks very good. I just wanted you to post the mod, and I thought that a short disclaimer would warn people like me that looks for historical accuracy in a mod.

P.S.

I once blasted Firaxis in a post regarding the WWII scenerio because San Farnciso did not have a factory, and the USS Raleigh is NOT a HEAVY cruiser.
