i hereby declare war on moonbars' france

why?
about 15 turns ago my warrior took a shortcut through his territory to my new city and i discovered it was undefended.
after asking in the "30% iron civer tournament" thread ( http://apolyton.net/forums/showthre...threadid=113223 ) and got backing from the rest, i agreed with moonbars, that he'd give me literature 7 turns from then, and i'd spare his city.

well, time passed and no literature came. i already from the beginning was suspicious, but then i was certain that not only would he lie (he sais he doesn't bend to blackmail... well, it IS blackmail, but then again it was a valid contract we had). anyway... i'm not unprepared and he probably isn't either as he knew 7 turns earlier that he wouldn't keep his word)

i call on the world NOT to join forces with a liar and a cheat! i don't expect any of the others to fight on my side as they are behind on cities, but don't ally with him! who sais he won't backstab you too if he finishes with me?
i for one promise to leave you peace AND the whole western world for a very long time if you keep out of the war!

battle report: in moonbars turn, he killed 2 swordsmen, and redlined a swordsman and a spearman. all were veteran.

i havn't fought any battles in my turn. i walked into a trap and i'm an blue-eyed idiot for doing that

I established embassies with all three nations in 1790BC, no deals where made prior to this. I saved up the gold and had only 1 GP left once I had established them. this was no fluke, I planned it.

I had intended to contact both players when I recieved the following turn, but as it happened Andy approached me as I was looking at his capital, and the anti-blackmail league was formed soon after.

Sabrewolf - I suggest you don't try and turn what is perfectly fair game play into a rules debate, it is nothing personel, France will simply not tolerate blackmail. Next time you'll know not to mess with Moonbars

Portugal, England and France have had embassies established for some time. I can confirm that and also that nothing that has transpired so far contravenes the rules.

short summary of my stupidities:

mistake #1: bullying instead of warmongering. should have sacked that city without discussing.
mistake #2: trusting in the word of a player...
mistake #3: thinking that others would keep out of it if they are so far behind (2/3 cities vs. 5/6)
mistake #4: invading to hope for war happiness. had no idea he had so many assault units in his city (at least 4)
mistake #5: slandering... i feel especially bad about this one! sorry again!

unprotected city! ever played MP? ever had an AI walk past an unprotected city? what happens? ... yes... it gets taken. and part of the game is about rexing and defending...

tech lead... expansionsist are only useful for that on tiny maps. and it's not my fault i got philosophy after researching IW, trading alphabet and researching CoL and philosophy... with 2 people starting with alphabet i wouldn't have expected that! with the SGL i was very lucky... but that's the only good thing about being scientific in multiplaying.

and for the starting location, i had virtually no production until i mined the hills! and the floodplains killed my citizens just when i wanted to rush a settler. i would have happily changed with both the english or the french... honestly!
only the portuguese starting location isn't very nice.

Yes it gets taken fair and square, the AI has the Honour not to try and use the threat of killing 24,000 civilians as Ransom.
