Sure, but that's only half of it. The main reason I say it's value is reduced in AP is the tech pace is so fast that the wonder becomes obsolete much more quickly, as do the AC units it produces.

well, actually, i was going to at one stage, but then the iron flipped back to you. after it came back to me, i peeked into your city and noticed that i wouldn't be able to penetrate your defences.

iirc, i was getting chivalry pretty soon and had around 10 horsemen but not yet enough money for all upgrades. i guess sooner or later i would have engaged, ideally taking your border town and your capital in the first turn.

my bigger problem would have been your mayan. i have no idea how mighty they are and with the wide border to the dutch (who had hardly any offensive units) could strike anywhere.
