Clicking on the new pm shortcut take me directly into the latest message in my box. Could this be changed to place the user in the inbox instead? Situations sometimes merit holding onto a pm without opening it so that the sending party can tell it is unviewed from their end...

Safety from e-mail checks

The last couple of weeks, we have a new system in place which gets bounced back messages, retrieves the responsible email address and moved the associated username to a "bad mail" users group.

PLUS users are exempted from this procedure (if there is an error with their email nothing happens to their account)

Because up till its infameous appearance, You were trying to improve this site so that it'd be better. Of course the more users, the better for You.
Now any improvements that will appear will be for Plussies probably.
You won't improve standart Apolyton account, because You won't have interest in it.

Yes, of course. But while the PLUS' possibilities may expand, I doubt normal browsing's will.
If Apolyton will have additional features, it will have them for PLUS only probably.
Normal Apolytoners will become obsolete...

No I think Markos has our best interests at heart.

What I do think he is trying to do is help operate by deferring the costs of running this site which I count as a Value Added Experience

It's no conspiracy theory. It's just probability.
For Markos and the rest of the crew, Plussies are simple more valuable than the rest of Apolytoners.
And they have the best interest in convincing more and more Apolytoners to join Plus. And when and if the normal users will become less numerable, or when Apolyton will be low on cash,
they'll say "You have 2 months to decide whether You want to sign up for Plus or to leave Apolyton forever".
Such thing's happened to my mailbox.

PLUS users get small benefits, and few members pay for them because they are worth the fee - I know I cough up in order to support the site I enjoy posting at, not for the benefits. It is through the actions of those that feel the same way as me that you get a site that functions well, so please, pretty please, shut the hell up.
