You're up against one hell of a time, I guess.
Fortunately, most people will lose interest in this game about 6 months in, so if you still have your turnplayers then you'll gain an advantage over the Morganites and the Spartans.

Hello, I'm mostly a Civ3 player but I used to play a bit of SMAC back in the day. I just noticed there's a Spartan team and they were my favorite faction in the game.

I am probably nowhere near as good as most of the players around here and I'll probably end up just lurking and seeing how others play the game but anyway, could I be accepted into the Spartans?

Increase Your PM Length

Up at the top right hand of the screen there's the list of ACDG3 factions. At Sparta, click on join, and in due course (ie as soon as he gets - and reads - the PM with your 'Poly particulars that's automatically sent to him) Skanky Burns will authorize you.

I'd just like to point out that I don't automatically get a PM when someone attempts to join. This has to be sent manually to whoever authorises people in each faction so they can check for you and authorise.

Clearly a mistake. Whoha has shown exemplary greed as a Morganite. I'd be shocked if he had any interest in putting Planet's needs over his own by joining Gaia.
