hmmm a famous game made in the early 90's, with shells in it and a top down view in a kinda isometric way and you start as a dead beat aiming to retrive your lost glory or something like that?

ouch------ well its not an adventure game then, im thinking of SeaMonkies(tm) for some reason!!!! like they start out low on the food chain and 'improve' over time.......its late and my head aches, i'll have to wait for more clues

It's obvious to me that whatever game this is, I probably haven't played it. That or you've done a VERY good job of fooling me.

On the assumption I've never played said game, my only hope is to google this stuff... I doubt I'll get around to that, though.

When I said "right at the beginning", I didn't mean that like Heimdall, you had to complete them before your quest even started.

I have to hand it to you guys, you're making tough work of this. Perhaps you need another clue - something you can really get a grip on.

5 Villages, forests, swamps, hills, castles, and of course dungeons, all see the progress of your hero as he battles to bring fresh air to the land.

Is this that one where you build towns then fight monsters nearby the towns? I can't remember what it was called. It was a fairly early SNES game.
