My first SMAC game in two years. First an unexpected obstacle: "Your CPU is not supported". I thought I got really ripped off. But, good old Poly fixed that in a minute.

Then the game starts. I was affraid I got rusty. In spite of that I selected transcend, huge, abundant, etc...
But, when I came to selecting the faction, I remembered how I used to rock when playing Gaians, so I selected them and totally rocked with an army of worms recruited from the fungus.

I captured two Yang's bases and forced him to sign a pact to serve me, then I turned to Lal and captured three of his bases. I quit then because the game was already won.

I got Fallout, Railroad Tycoon II and SMAC for 39,00 Kn each. That is about 5,50 Euro each.

I couldn't believe the prices! Here games in the bargain bin are 115 Kn usually which is 15,50 Euro.

SMAX is available in the "Laptop Collection" which is usually $20 US.

Also included is Red Alert 2, SimCity 3000, and Tiger Woods Golf.

I bought the whole thing just for SMAX, I already had SMAC. And I found that Red Alert 2 is fun, and SimCity is pretty good too. Haven't played Golf yet. Golf games usually center on timing far too much for me.

I would have gotten one for myself, but alas, they had none. I contacted the company that imports these budget games because I need many TBS games to complete my collection (CtP II for example) and they told me that they are not ordering specific titles but instead buying them wholesale from some company abroad, so they have no influence on what comes in the package. It's mostly crappy games, so I was thrilled to spot SMAC there. Going to the counter, I was excited like a little boy

It's a good bargain at any rate - consider yourself having paid 32 for SMAC and getting the rest free .

Haven't played the others (though maybe I should've played alone in the dark), but SMAC is worth 32 euros by itself.
