A Magical Moment...

Hey! I'm a third generation myself... wait, my skin's white.
Actually as much I hate to say this, I do agree with some of what PA's saying. For instance in the States, we got African-Americans moaning and whining about how they haven't gotten reparations for the slavery era. What's the point with that? Slavery ended about 140 years ago and that's about 4 or 5 generations ago. Beside if it wasn't for that, those descendants' would be in Africa, who knows, in Darfur right now at this very moment.
Yes, racism and discrimination both are very real issues we should be concerned about. However, certain individuals of certain groups whining about how life's lousy and unfair and how the society is obligated to help them out or whatever just disgust me.
Hello, guess what? Life is unfair. Life sucks. Instead of whining about it, do something productive about it. Pull up your bootstraps and forge on. We all are dealt our own set of cards in this little game called Life. Some people got terrific hand while some got really lousy hand. What can you do about it? You can whine about it or just play the game the best you can and perhaps actually change the game itself. I am not saying it will be easy and that it won't be a struggle but it is a fight worthwhile and who knows, you could make life easier for the next generation and the following ones.
This thing is not neccessarily limited to immigrants or whoever. All groups have their own 'dredges.' White trailer trash who sit around collecting welfare and blow away food stamps on beer and chips for instance.
