I'm proud to say I've never put anyone on an ignore list. It seems that all to often users put people on their ignore list because the ignorees have different political views and ask embarassing questions which the ignorer can't anwser.

the only person on my ignore list tends to respond to MY opinions by either trying to change the subject, calling me names referring to my religion/ethnicity and nationality, or both. I think its well that I have him on ignore, as responding to his trolls only wastes bandwidth.

I don't understand the purpose of ignore lists. Can anyone enlighten me?

And I have two people on my buddy list, but I don't understand its purpose either.

I accidentally put Spaced Cowboy on my buddy list and at the same time noticed I was on Skanky's buddy list, so I added him too

Ignore lists reduce Apolyton bandwidth usage by minimizing the posts of a set of people to a single expandable line.

It is useful if you happen to be part of a team game, such as the demogames. Very useful at times.
