This is pretty much what everyone thinks AFAIK. Halo was designed for a console, and the PC port just isn't very good. Auto Aim doesn't translate very well to a mouse and you can't turn it off. Driving is awful w/o a controller, too. Halo is a console game only IMO.

Halo wasn't bad, it was just...uninteresting. I mean, everything looks the same after five minutes, and for the love of god why was there only one MP player model?

It just didn't do anything. Except get hyped too much.

I take it that different players have different priorities.

Halo is a damn fun game; will it still be on the hardcore FPS tournament circuit almost 6 years after its release?

I think it's better to explain this with an example.

The original Halo only let you play as one character in multiplayer. You were always the Master Chief. You could choose your color, yes, but it was always the same guy. It used the same model. Hence, Halo didn't have more than one multiplayer model.

Halo 2 will allow you to play as the Master Chief again, but also the Covenant Elite (the best, brightest, and brawniest of the enemy forces.) So there are two multiplayer models in Halo 2. (Possibly more, but they've only shown us 2 in previews.)

edit: This link is from a guy who brought a camera to E3 and recorded a presentation. This isn't the one I was thinking of. It's still pretty cool because it shows a bunch of new features.

Yes you did because it's built into the game. Check out what happens when you put your crosshair directly on a guy and then he moves. Your crosshair will follow him slightly. Sometimes it's downright awful because you'll be aiming at one thing and another will run in front of you and the stupid auto aim will move your aim when you don't want to.
